🚀 從學術英語到職涯發展 ✦ ACE Club 系列課程順利結業！🚀

由 CBE 與 Fulbright 學術交流基金會合作之「Academic and Career English Club（ACE Club）」系列課程已於本學期順利結業！本系列課程透過全英語互動式學習活動，協助學生強化學術與職涯英語即戰力，培養即時英語溝通與表達能力，並建立跨領域共學交流平台。📚

課程共計 8 場次，吸引來自全校 10 個學院、57 個系所學生熱情參與，累計參與達 265 人次。課程內容涵蓋 EMI 學習與學術溝通能力，以及職涯發展與個人品牌建立兩大主題，引導學生從學術閱讀、簡報技巧一路延伸至履歷撰寫、模擬面試與職涯規劃，逐步培養未來所需的英語溝通能力。💼

課程中學生透過小組互動討論、即時回饋及實戰演練，累積英語表達與公開發表經驗。來自各系所的學生也在交流過程中互相分享觀點，共同打造持續成長的英語學習社群。課程亦鼓勵同學持續活用數位學習平台及 Fulbright 學術交流基金會提供之延伸學習資源。

此外，為鼓勵學生積極投入學習，結業時頒發全勤證明及表現優秀證明，以肯定同學們的學習成果與投入精神。✨🏅

特別感謝本次 Fulbright 講師團隊EMI Advisors Mary Goodrich 與 Nate Fifield，以及 EMI ETFs Tom Murtha 與 Maya Antonio，透過講師們豐富的教學經驗與熱忱投入，在課程中共同打造優質英語學習環境，陪伴學生在學術與職涯發展道路上持續成長。

The Academic and Career English Club (ACE Club), jointly organized by CBE and Fulbright Taiwan, successfully concluded this semester. Through interactive English-medium learning activities, the program helped students strengthen practical academic and career English skills while developing real-time communication and presentation abilities.

The eight-session program attracted students from 10 colleges and 57 departments across NTU, recording a cumulative attendance of 265 across all sessions. Covering themes such as EMI learning, academic communication, career development, and personal branding, the series guided participants from academic reading and presentation skills to résumé writing, interview preparation, and career planning.

Through group discussions, hands-on activities, and peer learning, students built confidence in using English while becoming part of a supportive learning community. Outstanding Attendance Certificates and Outstanding Performance Certificates were awarded to recognize students’ dedication and achievements.

Special thanks to the Fulbright instructional team, including EMI Advisors Mary Goodrich and Nate Fifield, as well as EMI ETFs Tom Murtha and Maya Antonio, for helping create a high-quality English-learning environment and supporting students’ academic and professional growth.

🏆2026 NTU English Digital Storytelling Contest

✧･ﾟ: *✧･ﾟ:*決賽之夜用故事點亮舞台！ ✧･ﾟ: *✧･ﾟ:*

雙語教育中心與本校外語教學暨資源中心合辦之「2026 NTU English Digital Storytelling Contest」決賽，已於5月22日精彩登場！本屆競賽鼓勵學生透過數位影音創作，以英文分享自身成長歷程、人生轉折、熱情追尋與價值探索。參賽者須獨立完成一支2分鐘數位敘事影片，並結合照片、動畫、影片等素材進行創作，透過影像、語言與敘事技巧展現個人觀點與創意表達能力。🏅🤩

本次共吸引33位學生報名參賽，經初審後，共15位表現優異同學晉級決賽。決賽亦吸引135位校內師生及參賽者親友報名觀賽！參賽同學們以流暢的英語表達、細膩的情感詮釋，以及與影像高度結合的敘事演出，為現場觀眾帶來一場充滿創意、情感與啟發的精彩夜晚。🎙️🪄

本次決賽特別邀請國立臺灣科技大學語言中心行政業務組組長 林智凱老師、助理教授 朱芳儀老師，以及國立臺北教育大學兒童英語教育學系助理教授 林盈妤老師蒞臨擔任決賽評審。評審們除肯定參賽者於英語表達與數位敘事上的優秀表現，也針對故事鋪陳、語言運用、情感表現與影音整合等面向，提供專業且深入的回饋與建議。

再次恭喜所有獲獎參賽同學，感謝大家以真誠的故事、創意的表達與投入的演出，共同展現英語敘事與影音創作的多元魅力！

—⟢✦ Tell Your Story, Make It Matter ✦⟣—

The final round of the “2026 NTU English Digital Storytelling Contest,” co-organized by CBE and the Foreign Language Teaching and Resource Center at NTU, was successfully held on May 22.

This year’s contest encouraged students to share their personal stories, passions, and reflections through English digital storytelling. Participants independently created two-minute digital storytelling videos combining narration, visuals, animations, and other multimedia elements to showcase their creativity and English communication skills.

A total of 33 students registered for the competition, and 15 finalists advanced to the final round after the preliminary review. A total of 135 audience members registered to attend the event, including NTU faculty members, students, contestants’ family members, and friends. Through fluent English narration and emotionally engaging storytelling, contestants created an inspiring and memorable evening for the audience.

The final round featured a distinguished panel of judges, including Director Chih-Kai Lin and Assistant Professor Fang-I Chu from the Language Center at National Taiwan University of Science and Technology, as well as Assistant Professor Ying-Yu Lin from the Department of Children’s English Education at National Taipei University of Education.

The judges praised the contestants’ outstanding performances and provided insightful feedback on storytelling, language use, emotional expression, and audio-visual integration.

Congratulations once again to all award winners and participants, and thank you for making this year’s contest truly unforgettable!

💚🚩 Chatterbox Café… but make it Valentine’s! 🌷✨

On 2026/5/20, CBE transformed an outdoor space behind NTU’s Main Library into a picnic-style Chatterbox Café session to celebrate 520 — a popular Chinese expression that sounds like “I love you” when pronounced in Mandarin. ☀️💬

Instead of focusing only on romance, however, we explored something even more meaningful and relatable for uni. students: communication, respect, and human interaction. Using our specially designed “Red Flag” discussion cards, 16 table masters guided nearly 50 participants through conversations about friendships, group work, boundaries, and everyday social situations.

From “Someone listens without interrupting” to “Someone disappears during group projects,” students exchanged opinions, shared cultural perspectives, and reflected on what different behaviors might reveal about a person. 🗣️✨

Whether it’s Chatterbox Café or all the other activities we organize at the CBE, we believe language learning becomes most meaningful when it is connected to authentic human interaction. Through activities like these, students not only build confidence in English, but also learn how to express opinions, navigate differences, and communicate thoughtfully with others.
