Today, we mourn the passing of Mr. Samuel Yin with deep sadness and gratitude.

Mr. Yin devoted great effort throughout his life to education and international talent development. His support for the International Health Program (IHP) at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University has been especially meaningful and lasting.

On January 14, 2019, Mr. Yin visited the old and crowded IHP teaching space. During the visit, he noticed the national flag of Eswatini (formerly Swaziland), which had been gifted to the program by students and displayed on the wall. Deeply moved by what he saw, he later instructed the professional Ruentex Design team (潤德) to renovate the entire 4F of Medical Building II on the Yangming Campus. What was once a small and limited environment, IHP was transformed into one of the university’s important international exchange spaces today.

Since then, this creative multi-function space has hosted countless international courses, forums, student exchange activities, cultural events, and cross countries collaboration meetings. For IHP, it is more than just a space. It carries the dreams and connections of students from around the world. We continue to cherish and carefully maintain Mr. Yin’s kindness and vision, so that this space can remain a place full of possibility.

Beyond infrastructure support, the College of Medicine outstanding scholarship established by Mr. Yin has also benefited many IHP students, helping talented international students come to Taiwan to study, grow, and build their future.

As one of Taiwan’s important international programs, IHP understands that what Mr. Yin left behind is not only facilities and resources, but also a sincere belief in education, in the world, and in future generations.

Although he has now left us, his generosity continues to support students from many different countries, like a pair of strong and steady arms, lifting, embracing, and encouraging them forward. Through Taiwan, a place we deeply love, IHP students continue to spread their wings and journey into the wider world.

Thank you, Mr. Yin.

🎓 NYCU × NTU × TMU: Joint Seminar Successfully Concluded! 🌟

What an incredible Friday afternoon on May 22nd filled with academic synergy and inspiring connections! A huge thank you to all the brilliant students and faculty from NYCU International Health Program (IHP), NTU Global Health Program (GHP), and TMU Program in Global Health and Health Security (GHHS) who joined us for this year’s Joint Seminar.

From the moment everyone picked up their mystery cards at registration, the energy was absolutely electric! ⚡️

Here is a quick look back at today’s highlights:

The 3x3 Talks: Students kicked things off by grouping up for a rapid research exchange, answering three core questions: What is your research about? Why does it matter? And what is the ultimate challenge?

Collaborative Brainstorming: Moving into larger groups based on card colors, participants worked intensely to map out solutions to complex challenges.

The Big Presentations: We wrapped up the seminar with powerful 5-to-10-minute group presentations that showcased incredible teamwork and fresh, interdisciplinary perspectives.

Connecting with peers across different universities to deep-dive into research topics and spark new academic insights is exactly what these programs are all about. 🧠🤝

Thank you to everyone who brought their passion, curiosity, and bright ideas to the table. Let’s keep this research momentum going! 👋💼

IHP was honored to visit University of the Philippines Manila and engage in meaningful discussions with faculty members from UP Manila and University of the Philippines Los Baños regarding potential collaborative research and academic partnerships. 🌏🤝

The discussion focused on future opportunities in One Health collaboration and possible degree and student exchange initiatives between Taiwan and the Philippines. We are excited about the possibility of building stronger academic connections and creating more opportunities for future international collaboration.

We sincerely look forward to future collaborations together.

The University of the Philippines (UP) Manila and UP Los Baños engaged in a fresh round of discussions with Taiwan’s National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University aiming for the creation of a transnational postgraduate degree program.

Held on May 15, 2026, the meeting served as a preliminary talk on the development of joint Master of Science programs, including a program applying the One Health approach as a specialized track.

The three universities agreed to work on the essential details and components of the postgraduate course and to convene anew at a later date. A Memorandum of Agreement will also be instituted later on for this collaboration.

2026 Four-Universities Video Conference
🌍✨The 2026 Four-Universities Video Conference was successfully held on April 28 (TST) / April 27 (PDT). This annual event brought together experts and students from Taipei Medical University (TMU), National Taiwan University (NTU), National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University (NYCU), and Oregon State University (OSU).

A key highlight of the conference was the presentation on: "Funding for Vertical or Horizontal Maternal Health Programs? Evaluating Aid Disbursements and Maternal Mortality in a Three-Decade Global Longitudinal Study."

The session provided a comprehensive analysis of global health aid over the past thirty years, fostering a high-level dialogue on maternal mortality and health security. We appreciate speaker Howard Lee (GHHS TMU) for sharing these valuable insights and thank all participants for their active engagement.🌍✨
