We were delighted to have so many guests and members from other clubs join our meeting this Tuesday, including those who traveled from Taichung and Kaohsiung. During the Variety Session, Scott led a guessing game where it was challenging to determine whether statements were true or false. This game not only provided a lot of fun but also helped us get to know each other better.

In the Manual Speech Session, our new member Lee Talbert delivered his Ice Breaker speech, where he introduced himself and discussed the importance of saving money. Additionally, Luna presented a revised version of her previous speech, incorporating the feedback she received from her evaluator.

The Table Topics Session was conducted by Casey, who had just returned from the centennial Toastmasters International conference in the U.S. She also brought a cute Toastmasters banner for our club. Finally, the evaluators offered positive and constructive feedback to both speakers, encouraging them to participate in next year's speech contest.

Our next meeting will be on September 10. The venue is Museum Cafe. We welcome you to join us!

Toastmasters International is celebrating its 100th anniversary in Anaheim, California, where the mayor has proclaimed August as Toastmasters Month!
One of Charming's members, Casey Lin, is attending the annual conference and witnessing District 67 Director, Ben Lin, proudly display the flag on stage.
At 1:15 am (Taipei Time) on August 16, Taiwan's representative, Hannah Cheng, who won the Region 14 Contest, will compete in the semi-final of the International Speech Contest. Let's cheer for her together!

With many guests attending today, we had a lively meeting. In the Variety Session, Faye Chen led a game of Guessture, where we acted out words in idioms. After correctly guessing the idioms, we also learned their meanings. It was both an interesting and educational game.
In the Manual Speech Session, Mark Han, a former champion of the Mandarin Table Topics Contest in Taiwan, delivered a powerful speech that inspired us to be creative. Sue Huang introduced her project for an outing to Xitou, and Tony Shuai motivated everyone to be a hero by sharing his personal story as a heroic dad.
The Table Topics questions, prepared by Lee Talbert, were related to the meeting theme, "Daddy." Many members shared their experiences and lessons learned from their fathers.
Our next meeting will be on August 27. We welcome you to join us!

On Tuesday, before Typhoon Gaemi struck Taiwan, we had our regular meeting.
The meeting began with a fun game hosted by Tony, reminiscent of the American TV game show Family Feud or the classic Taiwanese show 大家一起來. Rita Lin's explanations about Pathways were exceptionally clear, using a large chart to detail all the Pathways projects. In the manual speech section, Luna's speech was both entertaining and thought-provoking, while Joyce's was highly informative. Later, when Susanna, our Table Topics master, asked everyone about their first impressions of Toastmasters, we learned about the various appealing aspects of the organization.

After the meeting, our guest Lee decided to join us. A warm welcome to Charming's newest member!

Our next meeting will be from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM on August 13. Let's learn English and have fun together!
