Then you MUST know about one of the biggest and most fun holidays here: the Mid-Autumn Festival (中秋節 - Zhōngqiū jié)!If you think Filipinos love long celebrations, wait until you see how Taiwanese people celebrate. It’s basically the Taiwanese version of a massive Family Reunion + Street Boodle Fight!

Here is what Taiwanese people love to do on this special day:
Street BBQ Party! (烤肉 - kǎoròu): Sana all get invited to a BBQ! In Taiwan, people don’t just BBQ in backyards—they set up grills right on the sidewalks and streets! The entire country will literally smell like delicious grilled meat. 🥓

The "Suha" Fashion Show (戴柚子帽 - dài yòuzi mào): We don't just eat pomelos (suha) here. It is a hilarious local tradition to peel the pomelo skin into a hat and put it on your head (or your pet's head 🐶) for funny selfies! Ang cute!

Mooncake Overload (吃月餅 - chī yuèbǐng): People exchange round mooncakes to symbolise togetherness. (Warning: They are quite sweet, so they go perfectly with your kape ☕!)

Moon-Gazing (賞月 - shǎng yuè): Sitting outside with family under the biggest, brightest full moon of the year. 🌕

🇹🇼 Bringing Study Opportunities in Taiwan to La Union! 🇵🇭

On September 18, we were delighted to join the 2026 Special Overseas Job & Education Fair in San Fernando, La Union, in cooperation with MECO.

We were excited to meet students and job seekers in La Union and introduce opportunities to study in Taiwan through the INTENSE Program, including scholarship support, industry-linked academic programs, and future career pathways in Taiwan.

Through this event, we hope more Filipino students can discover Taiwan as a destination where they can study, develop professional skills, and prepare for their future careers.

🌫️ SMOKE FROM INDONESIAN WILDFIRES REACHES THE PHILIPPINES

Smoke and haze from wildfires in Indonesia have reached parts of the Philippines, carried by the southwest monsoon (Habagat).

The haze has raised concerns about air quality in several areas, particularly in parts of Luzon and the Visayas. Residents are advised to stay alert and monitor local air-quality advisories.

⚠️ Stay safe:
• Limit prolonged outdoor activities when haze levels are high.
• Wear a protective mask when going outside, especially in heavily affected areas.
• Keep windows and doors closed when air quality is poor.
• Children, older adults, and people sensitive to air pollution should take extra precautions.
• Follow updates from local authorities and the DENR-EMB.

Today, we brought the INTENSE Program closer to the students of Mindanao State University – Iligan Institute of Technology (MSU-IIT) through our campus information sessions!

We were thrilled to connect with more than 230 enthusiastic students who joined us to learn more about the INTENSE Program, its opportunities, and how it can help them take the next step toward their academic and professional goals.

The energy, curiosity, and excitement we witnessed today were truly inspiring. We are grateful to all the students, faculty members, and everyone at MSU-IIT who made the sessions a meaningful and successful experience.
