Read the World Through Food開始。
From Humanity → Science → Practice.
🥘 Spice Journey|
🍵☕ Tea & Coffee Lab|
🍱 The Sustainable Lunchbox|
🥟 The Story of Dumplings|
“Teacher, I don’t like basil!”
“ I really hate garlic!”
“Teacher, mixing flour and eggs feels so gross!”
“Why do we need so much oil for pesto? It looks so unhealthy!”
And then?
The moment they tasted the pasta they had made themselves—from flour, eggs, and fresh leaves—everyone shouted:
“Yummy!”😋
For some students, it was their first time using a knife.
For others, it was their first time cooking with a wok.
Honestly, teachers need a very strong heart to run this kind of class!
But I truly love this group of children who are about to enter first or second grade.
They are curious, expressive, and willing to try. More than whether they can do something perfectly, I value their willingness to say, “Let me try.”
At Fanyu Global Table, every morning begins with Read the Food.
📖 First, we explore the culture and history behind the dish.
🧪 Then, we discover the food science behind it.
👩🍳 Finally, we cook it together.
From Humanity to Science to Practice.
From an educational perspective, this is much more than a cooking class.
It is an interdisciplinary learning experience that connects culture, science, inquiry, and hands-on practice—the spirit of an IB classroom.
