Asian Medical Students' Association International (AMSA International) We strive through knowledge, action and friendship. First of all, I would like to deliver my gratitude to all Regional Chairpersons for entrusting the team.

The Asian Medical Students' Association (AMSA) International is a representative not-for-profit and non-governmental international medical students' organisation. Dear People of Tomorrow,

It is the 36th anniversary of AMSA International, and I am honored to be elected as Overall Chairperson of AMSA International Tenure 2021/2022. The Executive Committee Tenure 2021/2022 are comprised of 19 members from Taiwan, Indonesia, India, Malaysia, and Kyrgyzstan. Ever since the COVID-19 outbreak, it has been the worst of times yet the best of times. Travel restriction and border controls gave us no choice but to undergo Force Majeure. However, AMSA International managed to divert the focus from biannual conferences to digital transformation. A great variety of online events—masterclasses, seedership programs, and even organisational rebranding all initiated in the seemingly hopeless year. As the pandemic gradually mitigates, AMSA International is ready to re-evaluate the feasibility of physical activities, while ameliorating the quality and quantity of online ones. For decades, AMSA International has been a platform not only horizontally connecting medical students worldwide, but also vertically linking them to prominent scholars, activists, and their doctor counterparts. Undoubtedly, AMSA International is an incubator where doctor-to-be acquire knowledge and soft skills, take actions for a sustainable future, and forge life-long friendships cross-culturally. Meanwhile, AMSA International is an accelerator to empower youth, to visualize superb ideas, and to shape the world around us collectively. Hence, as Overall Chairperson Tenure 2021/2022, I promise to lead the organisation to new heights. We appreciate every each of your presence since active participation of general member is the fundamental of every organisation. [Post Event Report: Executive Committee Upgrading 2026]

The Executive Committee Upgrading 2026, themed “NEXUS: Leading with Purpose, Connecting for Impact”, is an upgrading programme part of AMSA Elevate, which brought together the Executive Committee of AMSA International 2026/2027 to learn from one another, build meaningful connections, and discover what it truly means to lead AMSA International.

The event featured insightful sessions, including:
💡Talk Show “What it takes to be an Executive Committee: The People, Purpose, and Impact” by former Executive Committees. An exchange of experiences on leadership, challenges, relationships, and impact.

👥“Speed Dating”. Through a series of rotating conversations, Executive Committee members stepped beyond their departments to get to know one another, exchange experiences, and build genuine connections.

🏁“Interdepartment Challenges and Competition”. Through a series of collaborative challenges, the Executive Committee worked together to communicate, solve problems, and adapt together.

A heartfelt thank you to all Executive Committee and Speakers for making this year’s Executive Committee Upgrading a success. Here’s to a term of purposeful leadership, stronger connections, and an even stronger NEXUS. 🌐✨

📚 Interested in medical education? This opportunity might be for you!

Applications are now open for the New Educators and Scholars Training (NEST) Programme, a free programme developed by ScholarRx for students interested in medical education, teaching, and scholarship.

Through NEST, participants will have the opportunity to explore evidence-based educational strategies while gaining practical experience in applying them.

Throughout the programme, participants can:

🎓 Learn evidence-based best practices in teaching
🧠 Develop skills that can also make them better learners
🌏 Attend lectures and Q&A sessions with leaders in medical education
✍️ Author original educational work
📖 Build high-yield, interactive lessons
💡 Apply their learning through a capstone “Brick” project

The programme requires approximately 2–4 hours per month over one year, making it an accessible opportunity for medical students who would like to explore education alongside their studies.

Whether you are already considering a future in medical education or simply curious about becoming a more effective teacher and learner, NEST offers an opportunity to develop practical skills and build experience in the field.

[JAMSA TAKEOVER SESSION: Guide to Review Article: Systematic Review]

Greetings, People of Tomorrow!

JAMSA presents a simple guide referencing common mistakes done by authors of review articles during journal submission rounds. Through a more proper systematic review, researchers can ensure their evidence synthesis remains proper, rigorous, and reproducible to readers.
By searching in proper bibliographic databases, involving at least two people throughout the review process, and pooling studies of the same design, your methodology will be much more defensible to journal reviewers!
