玫瑰精油的名稱與產地：
玫瑰精油的品名前面常加上了品種或是產地的別名，由於眾家翻譯的不同，常常讓人搞得不是很清楚。
先看標示裡的植物學名，Rosa damascena、Rosa centifolia這是常用來提煉成精油的2個玫瑰花品種。
Rosa damascena：大馬市革玫瑰(奧圖玫瑰也是這個品種)，在正統芳療上所認定的玫瑰油指的就是此品種。
Rosa centifolia：普羅旺斯玫瑰(千葉玫瑰、摩洛哥玫瑰也是這個品種)。
保加利亞是最富盛名的玫瑰精油產地(此地以栽種Rosa damascena為主) ，另外土耳其、北非、法國等也都是供應玫瑰油市場的主要產地。純的玫瑰油價格會受到品種、產地、萃取方式很大的影響，一般來說Rosa damascena的價格高過Rosa centifolia很多，原產自保加利亞的奧圖玫瑰純精油是最貴的。不過，只要是純的玫瑰油，不管是那個品種產地與萃取方式，價格都是很高的。
