你們現在不知道自己的熱情是什麼，真的沒關係。
有時候，熱情會藏在你還沒看過的地方，
等著你們長大一點、看得多一點、走得遠一點，
它才會悄悄亮起來。
學英文不是為了考試，
而是為了讓你們能走進更大的世界。
當你看懂一句話、聽懂一段故事、
或第一次理解一個你從未認識的人，
你就會發現：
原來世界這麼大，人生可以這麼多樣。
也許你們還沒找到真正喜歡的事物，
但每一次學習、每一次嘗試、每一次把世界推開一點點，
都在為你們的人生放進更多光。
不要急著找到答案，
因為答案正在你們的未來等著你。

"I've been fortunate enough to create these films with, because every step of the way, this whole journey has been shared.
我非常幸運能與許多人一起創作這些電影，因為在每一步道路上，整段旅程都是與大家共同分享的。
And my love for cinema began when I was a very early age.
而我對電影的熱愛，從非常小的時候就開始了。
I mean, as early as I can remember.
可以說，是從我有記憶以來就存在。
I was just a little kid in this darkened theater.
那時的我，只是一個坐在昏暗電影院裡的小孩。
And I remember that beam of light.
我記得那一道光束。
It just cut across the room.
它劃破整個放映室。
And I remember looking up, and it seemed to me that it just exploded on the screen.
我抬起頭，看著它在銀幕上彷彿炸裂開來。
And suddenly, the world was so much larger than the one that I knew.
突然間，世界變得比我所認識的還要廣大無比。
You know, entire cultures and lives and landscapes and all of it was just unfolding in front of me.

And it sparked something in me.
它在我心中點燃了某種火花。
It sparked a hunger, a hunger for adventure, a hunger for knowledge, a hunger to understand humanity, to create characters, to tell a story, to see the world.

And it opened my eyes. It opened my imagination to the possibility that life could expand far beyond the boundaries that I then perceived in my own life.

And that beam of light opened a desire in me. It opened the world to me. And I have been following it ever since.

I remember being a little kid. I worked every job I could to earn the price of admission.
我記得小時候，我為了買電影票，什麼工作都做。
And when I didn't have enough, you know, I just figured out a damn other way to get in that theater, you know.

So cinema, that takes me around the world.
電影帶著我走遍世界。
And it helps me to appreciate and respect differences.
它讓我學會欣賞與尊重差異。
It shows me also our shared humanity, how alike we are in so many ways.
也讓我看見我們共同的人性——在許多方面，我們其實如此相似。
No matter where we come from, in that theater, we laugh together. We feel together. We hope together. We dream together.
無論我們來自哪裡，在電影院裡：我們一起笑、一起感受、一起懷抱希望、一起作夢。
And that is the power of this art form.

That is why it matters. That is why it matters to me.

So making films is not what I do. It is who I am.

Cinema has given me a life I could never have imagined.
電影給了我一個從未想像過的人生。
It has taken me to places I never dreamed I’d go.

It has introduced me to people who have inspired me, challenged me, and shaped me.

And it has allowed me to tell stories that I hope have meant something to someone, somewhere.

So to be recognized in this way… it is overwhelming.

It is humbling. And it is a reminder—of why we do this.

We make films to connect.

To reach out to someone in the dark and say: you are not alone.

And that, to me, is the greatest honor of my life.
