南投國中

計有六百餘人。創校至今在歷任校長苦心擘畫，銳意經營，及全體師生周心努力，秉持國家教育政策，正確教育理念，以為本校奠定良好基礎。

教育乃百年大計，本校自改制為國民中學後，學生急遽增加，校地校舍、學校設備咸感不足。又逢九二一大地震，教室毀壞四十五間，需整修、補強二十七間。期間停課數週，趕搭臨時教室，勉強復課，教學空間更是嚴重不足；幸獲得聯合報、中視、中廣認養經費一億餘元，慈濟功德會參與規劃設計發包興建，於九十一年四月十一日頒入新校區。九十一年十二月十二日舉辦『揮別九二一歡喜慶落成，校園重建落成感恩活動』完成重建。藉重建機會，硬體方面引進開放式教育的學校建築與設備，軟體方面積極提倡小班教學、合作學習，以提升國民教育品質，達成五育均衡發展的教學目標。



School History

Under the governments policy of having one junior high school for every township, a preparatory committee was established in the summer of 1962, education section chief of the county government and concurrently head of the preparatory committee Mr. Shu-bin Kuan, local gentlemen Ching-pei Chang, Ching-chang Chien with a total of more than a hundred others, united to collect contributions, and purchased 1.26 hectare’s of hillside land at the current address of zu-ci road zhang-he village Nantou city. In the winter of 1962, five classrooms were constructed, four classes with a total of 206 students returned from Ping-he elementary school on December 27th to have class at our school. On April 4th 1964 we were granted to become an independent school named 「Nantou county established Nantou junior high school」, and appointed Mr. The next year, the nine year national education system was brought into practice, we were then renamed 「Nantou county established Nantou municipal junior high school」. Our night school was established in 1973. Starting from August 1974, we went through nine principle terms with Mr. Ming-tang Liao, Mr. Siang-ying Syue, Mr. Wun-yan Chen, Mr. Hong-cheng Lin ,Mr. Chung-chang Chang , Mrs.Hue-di Ma, Mr. Guo-hua Dai , Mr. Zhen-sen Chen and Mr. Our school district includes six elementary schools Ping-he, Chang-he, Chang-hsing, Kang-shou, Hsin-feng, Chiao-chien. We currently have three art classes, three physical education classes , one special skills class , twenty regular classes, three night school classes with a total of over 600 students. Forty seven years has passed since the founding of this school, with the conscientious planning and managing of each principle and hard work from every single teacher and student, by following our nation’s education policy and correct education principles, a good foundation has been built for this school. Education is a project of vital and lasting important, after changing to a municipal junior high school system, our students increased rapidly and we started to realize to shortness of our school’s land and equipment. Then came the 921 earthquake, 45 classrooms were damaged, 27 of them needed repairing and reinforcing. During construction, school stopped for some weeks, we hurried out temporary classrooms, and managed to restart class, our resources were even more limited; luckily, the United Daily News Group, China Television Co and the Broadcasting Corporation of China raised funds of one hundred million NT, the Tzu Chi Foundation participated in planning, designing and contracting out the construction of our new campus. We moved into the new campus on April 11th 2002, and held a “Goodbye 921, campus reconstructed thanksgiving program” on December 12th the same year. Seizing the opportunity of reconstruction, in terms of hardware, open education architectures and equipment were introduced, in terms of software, we promoted small-class teaching and cooperative learning to elevate the quality of municipal education and reach to goal of balanced development of five ethics.
