Songshan Elementary School holds a special place in my heart, as it was here that I truly felt welcomed as part of the school community. During my time here, I had the opportunity to prepare, design, and lead interactive lessons and engaging activities, including introducing my home country to the students, playing basketball, and facilitating drawing and coloring sessions. One of my most unforgettable and fun experience was preparing Halo-Halo, my favorite dessert from home; seeing the students’ joyful reactions confirmed how much they loved it. I am grateful to the entire staff, especially Director Tina and my co-teacher, Ms. Princess Claire, whose kindness, guidance, and unwavering support made my teaching experience truly meaningful. I will forever cherish my time at Song Shan Elementary and the lasting memories I’ve made with both the students and the school community.

I am forever grateful for the opportunity to serve as an ELTA at Cheng Gong Elementary School for two semesters. As my first experience immersed in a Taiwanese classroom, this school assignment played a crucial role in shaping my teaching philosophy and pedagogical approach. The support and expert guidance of my co-teacher, Ms. Antonia, were very helpful in especially in navigating the cultural and instructional differences between my home country and Taiwan. I truly appreciated the chance to share my own culture with the students and staff, and I was honored to co-host a cultural exchange activity when students from the International Cultural Learning (ICL) program visited the school. These two semesters have been filled with meaningful learning moments, joyful classroom experiences, reflective practice, and professional growth. I will forever cherish my time at Cheng Gong Elementary and remain deeply thankful for the opportunity to be part of this wonderful school community.

Teaching at Taizhongshishengangquanli Elementary School has been one of the most wonderful and memorable experiences of my life. The school provides a warm and welcoming environment, and all the teachers are supportive, friendly, and kind. Every time I visit the school, I feel happy and excited to teach.

I teach Grade 4 students from classes A, B, and C. They are confident, active, and always eager to communicate in English. They are never shy about asking questions or sharing their ideas, which creates a positive and interactive classroom atmosphere.

Through this experience, I have not only improved my teaching skills but also learned how to better understand students' learning styles and make lessons more engaging and enjoyable. I enjoy using games, group activities, and hands-on learning to make English fun, and the students always participate with great enthusiasm.

One of my favorite moments is talking with the students during breaks and free time. They are always curious about my home country, Pakistan. They ask me about our culture, traditional clothes, food, weather, famous places, and natural beauty. I enjoy sharing these experiences with them, and it is wonderful to see their interest in learning about different cultures.

One of the moments that touches my heart the most is when I hear students saying to each other, "Teacher Rooh is teaching us today!" Seeing their excitement and happiness gives me a great sense of satisfaction and motivates me to prepare even better lessons for them. Their smiles, confidence, and willingness to communicate in English are the greatest rewards for me as a teacher.

I truly appreciate my Grade 4 students. Their confidence, excellent communication skills, respect, and positive attitude make every class enjoyable and memorable. They inspire me to become an even better teacher every day.

Overall, my experience at Taizhongshishengangquanli Elementary School has been truly rewarding. I am grateful to the school, the teachers, the ELTA Program, and especially the wonderful students for giving me unforgettable memories and helping me grow both professionally and personally. I will always cherish the time I spent with them.

A beautiful moment of learning, growing, and discovering in May.
In these classrooms, every simple question becomes a meaningful step in learning, from “What’s this?” (remembering and identifying), to “Do you know the name of the object?” (understanding and connecting), to “Can you sing?” (applying language creatively), to exploring daily food (relating English to real life).
Through these small, thoughtful steps, learners move naturally across levels of understanding, such as seeing, naming, using, and expressing. Teaching Experience Sharing – Damei Elementary School
My experience at Damei Elementary School was unique because I taught students from Grades 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6. Working with such a wide range of ages helped me understand how teaching methods must change according to the students’ level and learning needs.
For Grade 1 and Grade 2, I used songs, gestures, colorful pictures, repetition, and movement-based activities. The younger students especially enjoyed copying actions and repeating simple English words. For Grades 3 and 4, I included pair activities, vocabulary competitions, and sentence practice.
Grade 6 students were able to complete more challenging tasks. I encouraged them to use full sentences, participate in role-plays, and practice English expressions connected to daily life. Teaching different grades required careful preparation because the same activity could not be used in the same way for every class.
The most valuable lesson I learned at Damei Elementary School was how to be flexible. Some classes needed more movement and energy, while others responded better to structured activities. This experience improved my lesson planning and helped me become more creative and adaptable as a teacher.

Today’s classroom experience reminded us that the most meaningful learning happens when culture, creativity, language, and human connection come together. Through exploring the beauty and rich heritage of Indonesian Batik and practicing English through songs, conversations, and interactive activities, students discovered that education is not simply about memorizing information but about building confidence, sparking curiosity, and encouraging personal growth. The lesson also highlighted an important philosophy: small actions, repeated consistently, can lead to extraordinary results. Whether it is learning a new English word, singing with courage, sharing ideas, or discussing cultural values, each experience contributes to shaping who we become. Just as every batik pattern tells a unique story, every day of learning adds another meaningful thread to the fabric of our lives. The students demonstrated that learning can be joyful, culture can bring people together, and language can open doors to endless opportunities. When education is filled with enthusiasm, collaboration, and exploration, the classroom becomes more than a place to study; it becomes a place where dreams begin to take shape. I am Kaushik Ganguli from India, currently serving as an ELTA Teacher. Over the past six months, I have had a wonderful teaching experience as an ELTA Teacher at Xinghua Elementary School. I taught students from 1st to 6th grade and greatly enjoyed interacting with them while supporting their English learning journey.
At the beginning of each class, I engage students with simple and interactive questions such as, “How’s the weather?” or “What did you have for breakfast or lunch?” I also incorporate seasonal and event-related topics, such as Halloween, Christmas, and New Year celebrations, as warm-up activities. These activities help students feel comfortable, active, and excited to participate before starting the lesson.
In my lesson planning, I focus on familiar and practical topics related to students’ daily lives. For example, I encourage them to write letters to Santa Claus, reflect on the positive experiences they had throughout the year, and share their wishes and goals. These activities make learning both enjoyable and meaningful for the students.
Before concluding each class, I include online games connected to the lesson content to reinforce learning in a fun and engaging manner. This interactive approach helps students stay motivated and enthusiastic about learning English.
Additionally, my co-teachers have been extremely kind, supportive, and pleasant to work with, which has made my teaching experience even more rewarding.
Overall, these six months have been an enriching and memorable experience. I truly enjoyed spending time with the children, and it was rewarding to see them learn and have fun through interactive activities and games.

This year, I had the opportunity to teach at Nangang Junior High School in Nantou through a variety of cultural exchange activities. Together, we explored Indonesian traditions such as Bali’s New Year celebration, made Ogoh-Ogoh crafts, prepared rujak (fruit salad with peanut sauce), and learned about Indonesian Independence Day games, including a fun water relay. We also celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival by making traditional sachets, and the students introduced me to some of their favorite Taiwanese snacks.
The students were incredibly cooperative, and the teachers were creative and supportive, making every class enjoyable and meaningful. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to teach, share, and learn together. This is an experience I will always remember, and I hope we can meet again someday.
