Teaching Experience Sharing – Damei Elementary School
My experience at Damei Elementary School was unique because I taught students from Grades 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6. Working with such a wide range of ages helped me understand how teaching methods must change according to the students’ level and learning needs.
For Grade 1 and Grade 2, I used songs, gestures, colorful pictures, repetition, and movement-based activities. The younger students especially enjoyed copying actions and repeating simple English words. For Grades 3 and 4, I included pair activities, vocabulary competitions, and sentence practice.
Grade 6 students were able to complete more challenging tasks. I encouraged them to use full sentences, participate in role-plays, and practice English expressions connected to daily life. Teaching different grades required careful preparation because the same activity could not be used in the same way for every class.
The most valuable lesson I learned at Damei Elementary School was how to be flexible. Some classes needed more movement and energy, while others responded better to structured activities. This experience improved my lesson planning and helped me become more creative and adaptable as a teacher.

Today’s classroom experience reminded us that the most meaningful learning happens when culture, creativity, language, and human connection come together. Through exploring the beauty and rich heritage of Indonesian Batik and practicing English through songs, conversations, and interactive activities, students discovered that education is not simply about memorizing information but about building confidence, sparking curiosity, and encouraging personal growth. The lesson also highlighted an important philosophy: small actions, repeated consistently, can lead to extraordinary results. Whether it is learning a new English word, singing with courage, sharing ideas, or discussing cultural values, each experience contributes to shaping who we become. Just as every batik pattern tells a unique story, every day of learning adds another meaningful thread to the fabric of our lives. The students demonstrated that learning can be joyful, culture can bring people together, and language can open doors to endless opportunities. When education is filled with enthusiasm, collaboration, and exploration, the classroom becomes more than a place to study; it becomes a place where dreams begin to take shape. By celebrating our heritage, embracing new languages, asking questions, and committing to lifelong learning, we can build a brighter future through the meaningful moments we create every day.

I am Kaushik Ganguli from India, currently serving as an ELTA Teacher. Over the past six months, I have had a wonderful teaching experience as an ELTA Teacher at Xinghua Elementary School. I taught students from 1st to 6th grade and greatly enjoyed interacting with them while supporting their English learning journey.
At the beginning of each class, I engage students with simple and interactive questions such as, “How’s the weather?” or “What did you have for breakfast or lunch?” I also incorporate seasonal and event-related topics, such as Halloween, Christmas, and New Year celebrations, as warm-up activities. These activities help students feel comfortable, active, and excited to participate before starting the lesson.
In my lesson planning, I focus on familiar and practical topics related to students’ daily lives. For example, I encourage them to write letters to Santa Claus, reflect on the positive experiences they had throughout the year, and share their wishes and goals. These activities make learning both enjoyable and meaningful for the students.
Before concluding each class, I include online games connected to the lesson content to reinforce learning in a fun and engaging manner. This interactive approach helps students stay motivated and enthusiastic about learning English.
Additionally, my co-teachers have been extremely kind, supportive, and pleasant to work with, which has made my teaching experience even more rewarding.
Overall, these six months have been an enriching and memorable experience. I truly enjoyed spending time with the children, and it was rewarding to see them learn and have fun through interactive activities and games.

This year, I had the opportunity to teach at Nangang Junior High School in Nantou through a variety of cultural exchange activities. Together, we explored Indonesian traditions such as Bali’s New Year celebration, made Ogoh-Ogoh crafts, prepared rujak (fruit salad with peanut sauce), and learned about Indonesian Independence Day games, including a fun water relay. We also celebrated the Dragon Boat Festival by making traditional sachets, and the students introduced me to some of their favorite Taiwanese snacks.
The students were incredibly cooperative, and the teachers were creative and supportive, making every class enjoyable and meaningful. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to teach, share, and learn together. This is an experience I will always remember, and I hope we can meet again someday.

This semester, I had the opportunity to teach English to Grade 3 and Grade 4 students at Jhen Si Elementary School. My main focus was to help students feel comfortable using English in the classroom. I used vocabulary games, picture cards, short conversations, pronunciation practice, and question-and-answer activities.
At the beginning, some students were shy and preferred to answer in Chinese. I started using simple English instructions and encouraged them to respond with short words and sentences. Gradually, they became more willing to raise their hands and speak English in front of their classmates.
One of my favorite classroom moments was when students successfully used the vocabulary from previous lessons during a game. They were excited to remember the words and help their teammates. This showed me that interactive activities can make learning more effective and memorable.
Teaching at Jhen Si Elementary School taught me the importance of encouragement and positive feedback. Even small praise helped students become more confident. I am thankful to the students and local teachers for creating a friendly and supportive teaching environment.

I am Kaushik Ganguli from India, currently serving as an ELTA Teacher at Lunfeng Elementary School. I teach students from 1st to 6th grade and focus on creating an engaging and supportive learning environment for them.
In my classes, I prepare simple and familiar topics such as Food, Sports, Countries, and Weather, which help students connect easily with the lessons. I enjoy creating pictorial presentations, as visual learning makes the classes more interesting and enjoyable for the students. Additionally, I incorporate YouTube videos into my lessons to make learning interactive and effective.
Before starting each lesson, I interact with the students to help them feel comfortable and confident communicating with me. I usually ask simple questions to encourage all students to participate and speak confidently in English. For 5th and 6th grade students, I focus on teaching sentence patterns and helping verbs to strengthen their basic English communication skills. Some students are highly confident and demonstrate strong English abilities, which makes the classroom experience even more encouraging and enjoyable.
My co-teacher has been very kind, supportive, and cooperative, and I am grateful to work alongside them. Their support has contributed greatly to my positive teaching experience.
Overall, these six months have been a wonderful and rewarding experience for me. I truly enjoyed spending time with the children and supporting them in learning English through interactive and enjoyable activities.

I am Kaushik Ganguli from India, currently serving as an ELTA Teacher. Teaching Grade 1, Grade 2, and Grade 6 students at Shuidui Elementary School has been a unique and enjoyable experience for me. With the younger students, I focused on simple vocabulary, songs, games, and pictorial activities to make learning English fun and interactive. Their enthusiasm and excitement during classroom activities always created a lively and positive learning environment.
For Grade 6 students, I introduced sentence-building activities, speaking practice, and group discussions to improve their confidence in using English. This semester marks my second year of teaching at Daren Elementary School, and it has been a truly memorable journey. I had the opportunity to introduce Indonesian culture through activities such as making ketupat for Eid al-Fitr, role-playing Indonesian folktales, learning about safari parks in Indonesia, creating animals through paper folding, and exploring waste sorting while practicing English vocabulary and pronunciation.
The students were enthusiastic and always willing to try their best, despite having different levels of English proficiency. I am especially grateful for the support of my co-teacher and the school director, who were incredibly helpful throughout the semester.
