Kathmandu, Nepal (CNN)--Rescue(v/n. 救援) crews and residents in Nepal(尼泊爾) early Sunday began the desperate(adj. 拼命的） search for survivors(n.生存者) after a magnitude(n.震度)-7.8 quake near the capital of Kathmandu(加德滿都) a day earlier flattened(v.夷平) homes, buildings and temples, causing widespread damage across the region and killing more than 1,800 people.

Whole streets and squares in the capital of more than 1 million people were covered in rubble(nu.瓦礫). Stunned(adj.目瞪口呆的) residents stared at temples that were once part of their daily lives and now were reduced to nothing.

Locals and tourists ferreted(v.搜尋) through mounds(n.堆) of debris(nu.瓦礫) in search of survivors. Cheers rose from the piles when people were found alive -- but mostly bodies turned up(ph.出現). The injured(=injured people 傷者) ended up(ph.最後+ving) being treated outside overflowing(adj.擠滿的) hospitals, where(關係副詞的用法) crowds of people gathered looking for relatives.

今天一早就在FB上看到了一些同學家住凱旋附近，晚上經歷了驚慌難眠的一夜，也看到小乾姐難過不安的發文，再加上新聞報導的畫面，心情很沉重。今年已發生多起災難，很多事情我們無法掌控，但是希望不論外面發生什麼狀況，我們的內心能保持平靜，並積極的面對一切，幫助災區的朋友，也許一個關心的電話訊息就能讓他們感覺到無比溫暖。正如同我一早就收到很多親朋好友的電話，有些甚至很久沒聯絡，問我是否平安，就是這樣的關心問候，知道原來有很多愛我們的人和我們愛的人，才會覺得世界是如此美好！！
This morning, I saw many FB posts from students living around 凱旋, saying that they were afraid and sleepless all night. Little Dry’s post also showed that she was very sad and worried. All of these posts plus the footage of gas blasts made me down. Many disasters happened this year. We know that we can’t control everything. However, no matter what happen, I hope we can at least feel peaceful inside and face the problem positively. We can help those who live around the disaster areas. Just giving them a ring or message can make them feel the warmth. Just as I got many phone calls this morning from my friends and relatives, some of whom I almost lost contact with. Because of their care and regards, I know there are many people who love me and whom I love. That’s what makes this world so wonderful!!

謝謝小乾姐、Twiggy、Sinclair, 我可愛的學生們，當然還有我的「好朋友」，謝謝你們讓我度過一個難忘的「結婚十週年紀念日」！Sweet!

今天下午高三最後一堂課，上到後面一點點感性起來，我有儘量用輕鬆的語調來道別，沒想到還是看到有人偷偷的擦眼淚，相處了三年，你們真的好貼心、也好可愛！我也好捨不得你們喔！放學後排隊請我簽名加抱抱，覺得自己好像明星！哈！真心祝高三每一位同學考試順利、未來都能創造出屬於自己不平凡的人生！記得我說過，做任何事，最重要的是要對得起自己的心、只要真正有努力奮鬥過，其他的一切就不要太擔心了！這幾天請務必要吃好睡好！Take Care!!
