This is Dr. Anning's professional page, which allows students past and present to see what he's up to.
I had the honor of presenting to my colleagues at our annual retreat. The presentation highlighted the four essential environments that serve as the foundation of the international preschool:
The Physical Environment: Ensuring a safe, secure, and beautiful space for all.
The Emotional Environment: Fostering a culture where students feel secure and ready to learn.
The Academic Environment: Building foundational skills in bilingualism, literacy, and numeracy.
The Professional Environment: Investing in our amazing teachers to ensure a world-class education. Reaching out for community engagement and shared professional development.
It's a privilege to work alongside such dedicated professionals who continue to uphold the high standards of excellence that define our community.

Exciting day presenting the goals for our Primary Department to an amazing group of professionals. Grateful for the opportunity to share our vision and set the path for a successful year ahead!
Getting ready for my first year as Primary Director. My first observation is that people are generally great. My team is really supportive, understanding, and poised toward excellence. I think this is going to be an enriching experience and feel there will be a lot of meaningful learning this year.
IB PYP Programme Evaluation is a labor of devotion to the tenets of the IB and a dedication to the continuous improvement of our learning institution and its programs. We, at I-Shou, look forward to the visit in December, to meet with other inquiring professionals and make plans for our next cycle of improvement.

I was honored to be mentioned by Debbie Toyama on the International School Podcast, episode 70: Life is Stranger than Fiction. Debbie describes her journey as an international educator in Türkiye, Myanmar, and Nigeria. Along the way she talks about the onboarding experience she encountered that I had a hand in organizing. The whole podcast is worth a listen as Debbie is one of the most interesting educators I have ever had the chance to work with.

Come join me at the EARCOS Leadership Conference this October 28th at the Shangri-la Hotel, Bangkok.
If you are attending the EARCOS Leadership Conference this October, be sure to attend the workshop I am co-hosting with Ben Voborsky on retention and onboarding.
About five months ago I was approved to submit a chapter about onboarding in international schools to the Handbook of Research on Critical Issues and Global Trends in International Education, edited by Megel Barker, Ed.D; Liam Hammer, Ed.D; and Robyn Hansen, Ed.D.
Over the weekend I sent in my contribution.
Looking forward to this publication!
