🏅 Day 3
Today, our students stepped into the real world of Esports, guided by a professional instructor from the Department of Esports Technology at Cheng Shiu University!
They explored more than just competitive gaming. From livestream production and computer hardware to esports equipment, students discovered the technology and teamwork behind a professional esports event.
🎥 Who is needed for an Esports livestream?
Students learned about different roles, including camera operators, hosts, directors, and graphics/subtitle teams, and how each person works together to bring an exciting match to the audience.
📹 How do cameras make a match more exciting?
Starting with wide shots, medium shots, and close-ups, students learned the purpose of different camera shots and why multiple cameras are needed to capture the overall action, player movements, and exciting moments.
🎬 What does a director do?
The director is like the “commander” of the broadcast. They choose which camera the audience should see at the right moment and control the flow of the livestream.
💻 What’s inside a computer?
Students also explored the key components that power a computer:
🔹 CPU|The “brain” of the computer that processes instructions
🔹 GPU|Handles graphics, videos, and game visuals
🔹 RAM|Short-term memory that helps the computer run smoothly
🔹 Motherboard|Connects all the components so they can communicate
🔹 Mechanical Switches|A key part of mechanical keyboards that affects typing feel and sound
🔹 DPI|Mouse sensitivity that affects cursor movement speed
🔹 Polling Rate|How often a mouse sends information to the computer, affecting movement smoothness
🖱️⌨️ Gaming Computer vs. Office Computer
Students compared gaming computers with office computers and learned why gaming PCs need more powerful CPUs, GPUs, and overall performance to support high-quality, fast, and smooth gaming experiences.
From “I play games” to “I understand how games are powered and presented.”
This lesson showed students that Esports is more than gaming. It combines technology, hardware, visual production, livestreaming, design, and teamwork. 🚀
The next generation of esports athletes needs to understand the technology behind the game!

🏅Day 3
🔹 Motherboard|
🔹 Mechanical Switches|
🔹 Polling Rate|
🖱️⌨️ Gaming Computer vs. Office Computer
