【In the Mud with Taiwan’s Heroes: A Foreigner’s View from 4 Days in Guangfu’s Disaster Zone】I edited the raw, handheld footage and unscripted encounters from four days of disaster relief work in Guangfu, Taiwan after 60-million tons of water and thick mud swept through and buried the town.

My hope is to allow viewers to see and feel what it was like at ground level: the destruction and shattered homes, the coordination among strangers, the conversations with volunteers and survivors, the powerful sense of unity and grit that emerged amid the mud and chaos, and the encouragement and laughter that cut through the exhaustion.

This documentary is less about destruction than it is about resilience, empathy, and the shared strength that surfaces when strangers show up from across Taiwan and beyond.
