Watching Alex Honnold scale Taipei 101 without ropes or safety equipment was more than a breathtaking moment. It was a powerful reminder that extraordinary achievement is rarely about recklessness and almost always about alignment. In my latest article, I reflect on Honnold’s journey through the lens of passion, discipline, fear management, and even luck, drawing from his lifelong dedication to climbing and insights from neuroscience. Having written about him years ago in my book Complete Makeover: A Seven-Step Process to Transforming Your Life, this moment felt like a continuation of a story that still teaches us how focus, preparation, and true passion can redefine what we believe is possible.

This event has been in the works for a year, and we put in a tremendous amount of effort to make it possible.
