Remote work? Own a business? Exploring Asia? Thinking about Taiwan?

If the answer is yes (we hope it is… 🥺), you may want to learn more about the Digital Nomad Visa launched in 2025 by the Taiwanese government. Taiwan is making a great effort to attract more foreign talent, and so they launched it to attract remotely working global professionals.

What you should know before applying?
We offer you a quick overview of what the Digital Nomad Visa is, and why it’s worth your interest:

🎯 Benefits
The biggest advantage of it is flexibility. You can keep working remotely without applying for a local work permit. At the start of 2025, Taiwan opened the application process, so now eligible foreign nationals have a chance to “test the waters” and live in Taiwan for up to six months before committing to something long-term, like residence or Gold Card. The visa grants an initial three-month stay, extendable once for another three months. We also love the fact that there are amazing organisations in Taiwan working closely with the international community and various ministries like the IDNA (International Digital Nomads Alliance)

📝 What makes you eligible for the Digital Nomad Visa?
Each eligible applicant is a remote worker who comes from one of the visa-exempt countries. What’s more, varying requirements depend on the applicant's age. The group aged 20-29 years old must prove an annual income of at least 20,000USD or its equivalent, whereas those 30 and above are required to show at least 40,000USD or its equivalent (all made within the previous two years). Also, both groups need to provide proof of having a backup equivalent to 10000USD.

🌍 Remote work and your employer’s location
Please don’t worry about it. The Digital Nomad Visa has been designed with remote workers, whose employment is with overseas companies, in mind. That is why even if you are somebody who is working freelance or you hold a global contract, you aren't forced to be employed exclusively under a Taiwanese employer.

➡️ What makes the Digital Nomad Visa so great?
It’s an accessible entry point for remote workers and digital professionals to experience living in Taiwan without needing local employment first. It also allows young professionals like you, freelancers, and even aspiring entrepreneurs to test the waters and build some local connections while continuing to work globally. The Digital Nomad Visa helps you take the first step to transition from your country to Taiwan.

🌱To Youth: Staying in Taiwan is not as scary as it seems. If you are attached to your work and you are worried about losing that sweet deal, then don't worry. You don’t have to throw that away. Thanks to the efforts of Taiwan, you may come here and continue your work while actively being a part of Taiwan’s international community.

What do you think about being a Digital Nomad here in Taiwan, or do you have any experience with that? Please share them in the comments.👇

SDGs are essential, but have you ever had cognac jelly (蒟蒻果凍) straight from the fridge (or freezer) in the Taiwanese summer heat?

We are always happy to promote good Taiwanese products internationally (and domestically), so when Michael Glasek received an invitation to talk about his life, work, and the random pieces of trivia he carries in his pockets (yes, we know you like indigenous tribes), he couldn't say no.

We were in the audience watching Michael having fun with the fantastic hosts and the guests, hearing amazing stories of learning Mandarin Chinese to become a dentist in Taiwan, learning how to deal with the infamous paperwork (go a bit more digital Taiwan :>), or listening to the story of the Łowicz people from Poland, when the time for things to bring from Taiwan came, we couldn't make up our minds.

What are the products that one should bring back home after tourism?
If you immediately think of pineapple cakes, you are right, but that is also too easy, and you owe us a like!

Jokes aside, it's great to see so many Polish people having a fabulous life in Taiwan, happy to promote it, smiling, and some traditional Polish liquor (pol. “nalewka”) being "sampled" live.

“Therefore, I leave here my call and my appeal to the international community: do not let the flame of change fade; do not allow promises to die; and never forget the Amazonian rains, our fauna, our flora, and our people.

Belém needs all of us……”

Laura Sales, a Physiotherapy student at the State University of Pará, was born and raised in Belém. And after COP30, she is soaring the real “local sound” to the world!

At the Green Living Festival we had the pleasure of seeing through an active change sparked by Youth’s dialogue.

The event was successfully held by Business Today at Huashan, where we brought over young delegates to join a dialogue on sustainability with Bruce Hsu, the former Chief Sustainability Officer of Blueseeds.🤝

During the festival, City Forum Foundation with our partner Chinese Youth Growth Foundation 中華少年成長文教基金會, represented by Ming-Tsung Wei, and Fushengda International Marketing put together the Sustainable International Salon Forum, which was sort of the debate and discussion by International Youth’s aspiring leaders on the topic of innovation and corporate responsibility.🌏

They discussed and learnt. All that while having a person in a room who did not only talk the talk but walked the walk, Bruce Hsu. As a former Chief Sustainability Officer of Blueseeds, he shared his hard earned insights on the upcoming Blueseeds Park Project in Taitung, an initiative combining agriculture, local production, and tourism, giving young ambitious professionals guidance on how the change ought to be done.

We love to be a part of such events and it is a given that where there’s Youth willing to change the world for better, count us in we will be there. During the Green Living Festival our young friends explored how projects like Blueseeds Park can impact the industry or how to strengthen corporate social responsibility through cross-cultural collaboration. We always emphasize the power of discussion and so we are glad to have witnessed this insightful panel.

Big thanks to the organiser of the event, Business Today, our partner Chinese Youth Growth Foundation 中華少年成長文教基金會 and Fushengda International Marketing, but also the whole panel.

🎙The dialogue featured:
- Maria Argana (Paraguay)
- Anthony Jeseněk (Czech Republic)
- Bright Mbuya (Tanzania)
- I-Chih Yu – Co-founder of Mutahead and Chief Learning Officer of Global SDGs Alliance
- Jack Huang – representing Youth perspectives from Taiwan
- Moderated by Yi-Chan Huang, Consultant at the United Nations Office of Information and Communication Technology (UN-OICT),

We are happy to see the change stemming from local roots to global reach. It’s great to see that sustainability grows stronger when Youth starts to walk with enterprise hand in hand.

💬 What’s your take? How can businesses and young changemakers collaborate to scale sustainability beyond borders? Please share your ideas with us in the comment section. 👇

🌟We met, we shared, and we learnt.🌟

The incredible 2025 Q3 Taipei City Forum brought together young professionals, amazing experts, and our partners from around the world to discuss the future of SDGs in Taiwan, but also to talk about prospects for Taiwanese and International Youth. 🤝

We arranged each panel and activity to provide the young generation with tools to delve even further into their professional life in the industry. We held various types of discussions, and let the Youth think through how to mitigate pending problems in their country of origin.

This sentiment brought us to the conclusion of the 2025 Q3 Taipei City Forum, the Youth Declaration, which we had the privilege of seeing through personally. We gathered delegates from numerous nations, like Taiwan, Poland, France, Yemen, Ghana, South Africa, Japan, etc., just to name a few. 🌍

Our representatives delivered powerful, personally prepared statements in their mother tongues to commemorate the spirit of international collaboration, here in Taiwan. In the sentiment towards approaching COP30, The Youth voiced their country's commitment to SDGs and sustainable business development, calling the lawmakers and other professionals to take action and join the cause that SDGs represent.

Together, we are building a community where young people can connect, collaborate, and make a positive impact. Youth Declaration is a form of powerful statement to remind the industry that Youth have a voice, but they need a stage for the world to hear it. We provide them with the environment so they can present their ideas on how to fix the world.💡

We plan to continue to uphold our mission in creating space for our young generation to speak and voice their goals. If you’re in Taiwan and wondering about your next steps, join us at one of our upcoming forums; they’re designed for you.

Lastly, as the Youth declared their future goals, we declare that we are here to see their goals and dreams through! 🌱
