Strengthening Teachers, Strengthening Tuvalu’s Future

The Ministry of Education and Human Resources Development (MEHRD), with support from the Global Partnership for Education, UNICEF, the Institute of Education - USP, and Australian High Commission Tuvalu. has launched a major new initiative to improve teaching and learning across Tuvalu.
This US$2.5 million programme will support among others; teachers to gain and upgrade qualifications through 3 different layers of training for teachers.
1. The Graduate Certificate in School Leadership (GCSL)
2. Bachelor of Education for Primary teachers
3. Foudational Learning Programme.
This will strengthen classroom practice, confidence and build future school leaders — reaching teachers in both Funafuti and the outer islands through flexible learning and mentoring support.
By investing in teachers, Tuvalu is investing in better learning opportunities for every child and a stronger education system for the future.
Fakafetai lasi to all partners local and abroad, and educators working together to make this possible for our children and communities.
