“But they know it when they tell me!”, We hear this often. The difference between what a child knows and what they can put on paper matters.

A child struggling to read is not a child who is incapable of learning. Difficulty is not inability. 💛

We were delighted to be invited by Principal Miss Lynch and Standard 5 teacher Rachael-Ann Noel Miller to Nelson Street Girls’ R.C. School to present “Reading IS Rocket Science”, an interactive session examining reading failure, why it happens, and what we can do about it.

The school also warmly welcomed teachers and the Principal of Our Lady of Laventille Primary School to join the session.

It was a lively and engaging experience, filled with thoughtful discussion, participation, and several wonderful “aha!” moments as teachers connected new ideas to their own classroom experiences.

It was truly a pleasure to meet such a dedicated group of educators and to have the opportunity to share how the Dyslexia Association can support teachers and their students.

We look forward to continuing to work together to help every child become a more confident and successful reader. 💙📚🚀

🇹🇹❤️ Happy 64th Independence Day, Trinidad & Tobago! ❤️🇹🇹

Today, the Dyslexia Association proudly joins our nation in celebrating 64 years of independence, resilience, diversity, culture, and strength.

As we celebrate the many things that make Trinidad & Tobago special, let us also remember the importance of creating a society where every child and every learner has the opportunity to thrive, including those with dyslexia and other learning differences.

Let’s continue to build a nation where differences are understood, strengths are celebrated, and every learner is given the support they need to reach their full potential. 🌟📚

From all of us at the Dyslexia Association, we wish you a safe, joyful, and meaningful Independence Day!

🇹🇹 Happy Independence Day, Trinidad & Tobago! 🇹🇹
