48 big ones !!!! As our association celebrates our country’s independence, along side our fellow patriots, we must keep in mind a few things.
1. We are stronger together - it is of utmost importance that the bonds we share with our families, communities and nation be strengthened, for no one is an island. Grenada is the summation of the relationships fostered between its people, past and present.
2. The history of our nation must act as a beacon- while our leaders try to traverse the sea of uncertainty in efforts to ensure our nation’s prosperity, our history will provide a glimmer of light through the uncertainty . This light will aid in navigating hardships. Our history may be short, but it is rich and littered with the influence of our many martyrs, whose blood must not be shed in vain , oh no !!
3. The world is at our doorsteps, we must adapt without sacrificing our national identity- technology has shrunk the world. The cuisines, sports, clothing, speech, religion, music, dance and morales from all nations are readily accessible to us. Being knowledgeable of everyone’s culture is vital for communication and interactions. However, let us preserve ours, to ensure the generations to come will experience it as well.
Let us continue to work hand in hand as we aspire build and advance as one people. May God bless our Grenada!
