Caribbean Civilisation Club was created in 2004 as a direct consequence of student requests
The Club is a non-profit organisation that has emerged in response to the heartfelt cry of students to learn more about the Caribbean and its people and cultures. The club is the first of its kind and has emerged from the University's foundation course FOUN 1101.

The 42nd Annual West Indian Literature Conference presents Caribbean Creatives Community Artisan Market.
This event will take place on Wednesday, October 9 to Saturday, October 12 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at The University of the West Indies, Freedom Hall of Residence, Multipurpose Hall.

Calling all Film Enthusiasts and Cinephiles. The UWI Film Programme is opening its vault. We have 18 years' worth of films to screen. We are inviting you to come see our work and old talk about them after the screenings. All films screened are chosen by our students at the programme. This event is free.

Perseverance inspires perseverance.
Tobagonian John Procope has succeeded in his 4th attempt to swim from Tobago to Trinidad.
Procope left Tobago's waters via Scarborough just before 10pm on Wednesday October 2nd and made it to Trinidad approximately 24 hours later, as planned, on Thursday.
He said he was inspired by an enslaved man, Sandy, who escaped capture by swimming from Tobago to Trinidad in the 18th century.
Procope was supported by boat operator David McLean, aka 'Predator,' who is now being praised by many after accomplishing this historic swim.
