Little Angels Early Childhood Center was established in April 1995, with the inspiration and support of Gospel Lighthouse Church. Mrs. ANGELA ANASTACIO was given the opportunity to ascertain the growth of the institution. Two weeks went by with no students, which then followed by two students, subsequently to eight and from then to now the figures never went below thirty-five. The institution climbed the ladder of success, believing that none of this would be possible, without the presence of God. In 1998 Pastor Rennie Rampersad introduced the school to the House of Young Christians in Sangre Chiquito, to a family known as the Moon’s, the children were brought to the home after they were found eating roasted coconut prepared for the family by a sister who was approximately seven years of age.
Within the years of existence the school accommodated children from the children’s home in Sangre Chiquito, who were given remedial classes, in addition children within the pre-school age was given free education. Subsequent to the children in the home, children who could not afford pre-school education was given the service free, and we continue this service as long as it is necessary.
Additionally, a meal programmed started in 1998, not only for the children but also for the families in need as well. Mr. Richard Nath provided the financial assistance for this programmed and the prepared by Mrs. Angela Anastacio and Mrs. Pamela Sam.
In 2002, the school had its first formal graduation ceremony, where approximately twenty (20) students graduated. Years prior to graduation a certificate was given along with a farewell party for the students expected to leave for the primary school.
In 2003, the first fund raising activity took place in the form of a pageant, titled “Mr. and Ms. Little Angels”, Josiah Grant and Reshma Samaroo was given the title. The school first sport day was held on June 17th 2005.
As Christmas progress hampers and gifts are gathered together and distributed to families within the school environment who are in need as well as the surrounding community displaying love, care and concern to the less fortunate.
