The Mathematics team at our school continues to build momentum.
Our Mental Math activity is in its second year and is bearing fruit as students are becoming more interested in Math and are learning of the subject's significance to and influence on all areas of life.
Math teaches students to think critically and to solve problems in innovative and creative ways. It teaches them to recognize patterns and to be wise consumers. These are skills that prepare them to navigate life successfully.
The Math Team-Ms. K. Pilgrim-Mahabirsingh, Ms. D. Balliram, Ms. M. Castle-Hamilton, Ms. S. Latchman, Ms. S. Ramjit, Mr. A. Ali and Mr. A. Indarsingh are thanked for their diligent work that resulted in the exciting and engaging culmination of this initative...an Obstacle Course that captured the interest and attention of the participants and audience alike.
The San Fernando East Secondary PTA and all persons who contributed towards the prizes are thanked for the support that made this event possible.
Thanks as well to all staff who willingly assisted to ensure that all stations were well manned.
Our students are all encouraged to continue doing their best in this and all other areas.

Thanks to Dr. N. Birju and Ms. R. Chotai for their contributions to our World Environment Day activities.
We continue to partner with Soroptimist International of San Fernando.
For the occasion of World Environment Day our students, as one of our Student Council initiatives, collected over two thousand and five hundred plastic bottles.
This was just phase one of our recognition of the day as we acknowledge the need for us all to be a part of the solution by recycling and reusing, thus reducing our carbon footprint and protecting our world.

Our educators take up every opportunity to improve their practice and their suite of strategies and skills that can improve the teaching/learning process.
Today, our Math Department was represented by Ms. K. Pilgrim-Mahabirsingh and our Modern Languages Department by Ms. M. Atwell-Duncan as the Ministry of Education - TT rolled out its digital tools that have been designed to enhance the performance of our learners.
We look forward to the impact that this initiative will have on our education system.
