The kids came out, brought the energy, and had absolute blast at the SMSS Peer Supporters "LET'S MOVE!" event! 🏃♂️🎉
From intense games of Tic Tac Toe and showing off some serious Jump Rope and Hoola Hoop skills, to taking fun memories at "Picture This!" and scoring on the Ring Toss, the Multipurpose Hall was buzzing with smiles and laughter. A huge shoutout to everyone who participated and took home some awesome prizes! 🏆🎁
Most importantly, thank you to our amazing students for embracing today’s beautiful reminder: Love Yourself. Say No to Self Harm. Let's keep this positive energy going—be active, have fun, and always support each other! 💖🌟

📸 First day at the academy!
Our Form 4 Food, Nutrition & Health (F.N.&H) students took their learning out of the classroom and straight into the professional kitchen! On June 11th, they made their very first visit to the Chef Sharaz Culinary Academy’s Grassroots programme.
From mastering prep work to learning the ropes of a professional culinary environment, our students jumped right in with incredible enthusiasm and focus. We are so proud of how they represented our school and can't wait to see their culinary skills grow over the course of this amazing programme! 👩🍳👨🍳

🌟 SPOTLIGHT ON OUR PEER SUPPORT LEADERS! 🌟
At Ste. Madeleine Secondary, we are incredibly proud of our Peer Support students who recently stepped up to demonstrate exactly what it means to lead with empathy, courage, and maturity. 🤝❤️
In a powerful and vital presentation, our student leaders broke the silence on tough topics, showing us how to look out for one another by identifying critical warning signs of distress, including:
📉 Severe depression and emotional withdrawal
🩹 Self-harm (such as cutting)
🚫 Substance misuse (drinking and taking pills)
Their presentation carried a heavy but lifesaving reminder: we must look out for each other and notice when a friend is struggling.
💬 THE CORE MESSAGE: REACH OUT BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE. 💬
To every student reading this: You do not have to carry your burdens alone. Speaking up is a sign of immense strength, not weakness. If you or someone you know is going through a dark time, please reach out to a peer supporter, a teacher, a school guidance counselor, or a trusted adult.
Let's continue to support our Peer Support team by keeping our eyes open, our hearts empathetic, and our school community safe.

We couldn't resist sharing a little snippet from our lunchtime karaoke session in the library! 🎬👇
When it came time to sing the classic "Lean on Me," a few of us were feeling a little bit shy at first. But in true Ste. Madeleine Secondary fashion, everyone stepped in to support each other, lifting their voices together until the whole room was singing along! 🤝🎶
It was a beautiful, spontaneous moment that perfectly showed what real teamwork looks like and exactly what our school community is all about—always being there to lean on one another. 🥰✨

🍽️🎶 The Celebration Continued: Lunch, Lyrics, & 80s Trivia in the Library! 🎤✨
The Father’s Day festivities didn't stop after the morning program! At lunchtime, our wonderful celebration moved over to the library, where the good times kept rolling. 📚🎉
Everyone was treated to an absolutely delicious lunch, but the real fun came next! The room filled with laughter and friendly competition as we tested everyone's retro knowledge with an epic 80s music quiz. To top it all off, the karaoke machine fired up, and our staff showed off their best throwback vocal skills! 🎤😎
It was the perfect way to unwind, enjoy great food, and keep the high-energy 80s vibes going all afternoon long. Thank you to everyone who joined in and made the lunchtime session so incredibly fun! 🍛🎵

📜✨ A Beautiful Collaboration: Poetry for Our Fathers! ✨📜
Our Father’s Day program featured another deeply moving tribute when Andrew McFarlane took the stage to recite a heartfelt poem dedicated to the wonderful men on our staff. 🌟
Adding to the beauty of the moment, Andrew was elegantly accompanied by Miss Sookdeo, making the presentation incredibly powerful and touching. Their wonderful collaboration brought a perfect blend of emotion and grace to the room, leaving our honorees feeling truly celebrated and appreciated. 🥺👏

✨ WHAT A PERFORMANCE! ✨
The incredible Miss Lynelle Bahadur absolutely took the stage by storm with her rendition of "Vivir Mi Vida"! 🎤💃🔥
From the very first note, the energy in the room completely shifted. It was powerful, passionate, and filled with so much vibrant life that you couldn't help but get up and move. Lynelle didn't just sing the song—she owned it, bringing a powerhouse vocal performance that left everyone in the crowd completely captivated.
The atmosphere was electric, the applause was deafening, and safe to say, everyone was on their feet cheering! Thank you, Linell, for sharing your incredible talent and giving us a performance we won't soon forget. ❤️🙌

⚡️🕺 IT WAS ELECTRIC! A Totally Rad 80s Dance Explosion! 🎸🔥
If you wanted to see the true spirit of the 1980s come alive, all you had to do was look at the stage during our celebration! 🕶️✨
Our incredible students and dedicated teachers teamed up and hit the stage together for an unforgettable dance to the song "Electric"—and wow, they took the title literally! The energy was absolutely through the roof. It perfectly captured the vibrant, high-voltage energy of the 80s theme and brought the entire room to life. ⚡️💃
To make things even better, the men on staff got in on the action too! Some of our brave men went up on stage and got a hilarious, high-energy mini lesson on how to do the "Electric" dance. Watching them learn the moves and groove along with everyone was absolutely priceless and added so much joy to the day! 😂🕺🙌
It was a truly unbelievable performance that had everyone cheering, clapping, and feeling the groove. Thank you to our amazing staff and students for bringing the spark and making this throwback moment so spectacular! 🌟🎶
