Learning about Republic Day is a great way of instilling patriotism in children. It will give them a sense of belonging to the country they’re born in and will help mould them into responsible citizens.

Our children experience a range of educational transitions, including from home to the ECCE setting, and then the transition to primary school.
"A successful transition can have long-term positive outcomes for children both in their educational success and in terms of social and emotional development " (Margetts, 2009; Centre for Excellence and Outcomes in Children and Young People’s Services (C4EO), 2010).
Here is a link which you can use to obtain valuable information on this important transition.
Transition from Preschool to Primary School - online session for parents | National Parents Council NPC exists to ensure that all parents are supported and empowered to become effective partners in their childrens education.

The Lord God took the man and put him in the Garden of Eden to work it and take care of it" (Genesis 2:15 NIV).
World Environment Day is celebrated June 5 and it was instituted by the United Nations to stimulate worldwide awareness of the environment. We want the world to be safe, clean and beautiful for our children and also for their children. For that to happen we have to work together to take care of our planet. On this day people from all over the world do something positive to help our planet.
Teach your children that one way trees contribute to the environment is by providing shelter for wildlife.
Listen to the song Lisa the lemur with your children.

Tell them what is a lemur and show them one wildlife in Trinidad that need trees for their shelter.

Discuss with them that planting trees can help and plant a tree together.
With these small steps you can teach your children about the importance of protecting our environment.
Here are some pictures of our children learning that gardening provides a positive impact on our environmental surroundings.

For many children staying home, coronavirus can seem endless. But a child’s imagination is boundless - there are lots of places they can still “go”.
Encouraging creative, out-of-the-box play can make each day feel special, and give the daily routine a new boost.

Today is International Family Day.
The UN General Assembly realized the importance of the basic family system and declared 15 May as International Family Day in 1993. The first Family Day was was celebrated on 15 May 1994. The family system is the most essential element of social solidarity and serene society. Since 1996, the UN has been proffering a yearly theme for this Day.
UN Secretary-General urged upon the public policy-makers to settle the obstacles in the family system. The working conditions of parents affect them to play a smart role for their families.
The international Day of Families is, therefore, a source to attract the attention of policy-makers to develop need-based policies to create a nurturing environment at the family level for children, because a dysfunctional family system cannot build a functional society.

• First, explain the sigficance of International Family Day to your children.
• Draw or paint a pic of your family members.
• Count how many members and skywrite the number.
