Ministry of Education Reinforces Commitment to Safe and Secure Schools
Following the incident at San Juan North Secondary School yesterday, a multi-agency team visited the school today Saturday 12 September 2026, as part of a coordinated response to address the concerns arising from the incident and support the school community.
The team comprised representatives from the Ministry of Education, National Maintenance Training and Security Company Limited (MTS), the Education Facilities Planning and Procurement Division (EFPPD), the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA), the School Health, Safety and Security Unit, the Director of School Supervision, School Supervisor, as well as the school’s Principal and Vice Principal.
As part of the coordinated response, representatives from the Ministry of Homeland Security will also provide an intervention aimed at supporting teachers and strengthening the overall response at the school.
The Ministry of Education remains committed to working collaboratively with all relevant stakeholders to maintain safe, secure and supportive learning environments for all students, teachers and staff.
