What is True?

The question of "What is true?" has echoed throughout human history, inviting philosophical debate, scientific exploration, and spiritual contemplation. The Bible, however, presents an answer that is both unique and definitive. It identifies itself as Wisdom Literature—a distinct category of knowledge that invites us into a specific understanding of truth and reality. In its earliest narratives, especially the story of Eden and the lives of Adam’s twin sons, Cain and Abel, the Bible sets forth two fundamentally different systems of wisdom that shape how humanity perceives, understands, and interacts with the world.

These two systems of wisdom—Cain’s and Abel’s—offer radically different approaches to truth. Cain’s wisdom, driven by external validation and attainment, represents a subjective, comparison-based understanding of life, while Abel’s wisdom, rooted in inherent spiritual nature, embodies objective truth that flows from the essence of one's being. The Bible suggests that all of humanity operates according to one of these two wisdoms, each leading to different expressions of life, identity, and ultimately, truth.

Your Problem is Emotional Codependency

In the modern relationship landscape, there’s a dominant model—one that, more often than not, leads to relational friction and disappointment. This model could be called the "Make Me Feel Special" approach. It’s a model where people enter into relationships with the underlying expectation that their partner will make them feel loved, validated, and special. But is this really what love is?

The “Make Me Feel Special” model defines love as emotional validation. In this setup, one partner expects the other to fulfill their emotional needs, often without fully articulating what those needs are. When these expectations go unmet—because they often remain unspoken—resentment and hurt accumulate. The core issue here isn’t the emotions themselves but the idea that these feelings should be generated by someone else.

With this approach, partners fall more in love with how they feel when validated than with who their partner truly is. Without a solid, mutual understanding of the relationship’s purpose, this model often leads to unspoken expectations that, when unmet, create cycles of blame and disappointment. Such dependence on external validation is an unstable foundation for a relationship, leading to resentment when needs aren’t met and emotional codependency.

The challenge here is emotional codependency: a structure where each partner depends on the other to fulfill their sense of worth, security, or love. Instead of each partner bringing their own wholeness into the relationship, they unknowingly set the stage for emotional demands that drain rather than enrich. A healthy relationship requires a model that inspires mutual emotional strength, not one where partners look to each other for completion.

However, the Torah was never intended to be simply a collection of religious laws or rituals for moral guidance. Instead, it was the Manual of the Civilization of Christ—a divinely inspired blueprint for building a nation based on the Law of Spiritual Equity. This manual, which Moses put together under divine instruction, was designed to create a nation of priests, reflecting God’s wisdom, justice, and love in every aspect of life.

The Scriptures, including the Torah, predate not only Western civilization but also the form of Christianity that developed within the Western world. This means that the usage of the Bible as a religious text by various denominations, cultures, and traditions is a limited lens of its true purpose. The Scriptures were never meant to be confined to religious rituals or moral lessons—they were intended to govern life according to the principles of divine equity and justice that sustain all creation. This transition marked the birth of modern psychology, as thinkers like René Descartes (1596–1650) and John Locke (1632–1704) moved away from metaphysical explanations of the mind and instead focused on reason, sensation, and experience as the basis for understanding human thought.
