We are gearing up to expand literacy support and intervention in Tobago, in up to additional primary schools! ππ‘
Make sure to give us a follow to keep up to date with the project!

Teachers working in Tobago Primary Schools are sharing inspiring feedback from their experience of the ARROW programme π
Students are showing:
Increased motivation to engage with learning
Greater self-esteem and confidence
Alongside real progress in reading and comprehension.
These changes matter. Because literacy doesnβt exist in isolation β it grows where there is care, encouragement, and belief in each learnerβs potential.
When students feel valued, they begin to see themselves differently, and thatβs where transformation starts.

A new learning approach is taking root in Tobago....
The A.R.R.O.W. programme began working with three schools in Tobago last year, in collaboration with the Tobago House of Assembly, and supported by Fernandes Trust.
Teachers at Mason Hall, Bon Accord, and Montgomery Government Primary took part in training and began applying the programme with their students. Some teachers have since completed certification, and schools have also received laptops to support the work!
At the heart of A.R.R.O.W. is a multi-sensory Self-Voice technique designed to unfold over several years, giving teachers the time and support to continue guiding their students.
For A.R.R.O.W., meaningful change in education happens through time, patience, and care. This project is just at its beginning β there are plans in motion to expand it into several additional schools in Tobago!
What becomes possible when teachers are given the time and support to integrate new learning techniques with students and support their own unique way of learning?

The JOY of turning readers into LEADERS β happy World Book Day!
In June 2025, during the 3-day A.R.R.O.W. Read Aloud Programme, reading became not simply a foundational skill, but a core TOOL, to equip young people with the confidence to be leaders.
The initiative promoted joyful, community-driven learning through 6 different schools in northeast Trinidad, engaging 174 students. Incorporating whole-school participation, group reading, peer storytelling, and culturally relevant literature, each child went home with a free storybook of their choice.
We have every intention to expand this programme in 2026 β in the meantime, how can we continue creating spaces, big and small, where every child is supported to find their voice?
