Trinidad & Tobago Red Force are the regional 4 Day cricket champions after defeating the Guyana Harpy Eagles by 141 runs at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua.
Jayden Seales scored 70* in Trinbago’s 1st innings and took 4 wickets in Guyana’s 1st innings, including that of top scorer Jonathan van Lange who was out for 50.
Evin Lewis scored 122, spending 411 minutes at the crease in Trinbago’s second innings to set Guyana 281 to win. However, Guyana fell well short of that mark scoring just 139, with Kevlon Anderson top scoring in their 2nd innings with 41. Once again the top innings scorer was removed by Seales.
It was two decades since Trinbago last won the 4 Day Tournament, ending Guyana’s run of 3 consecutive tournament victories.
The 2005/2006 team when Trinbago won, was captained by Darren Ganga and featured names such as Samuel Badree, Dwayne Bravo and Lendl Simmons. The Prince of Port-of-Spain, legend Brian Lara also represented the National team in that winning match.
Jason Mohammed is a survivor from the squad 20 years ago, representing Trinbago in both the 2006 and 2026 tournament victories. Congratulations to the 2026 National Cricket Team.
