Customs & Excise Crisis
Port Authority PLEASE STOP the unfair charging of Port Rents to Importers.
Importers of Foreign Used vehicles and other commodities are being forced to pay storage charges at The Port Authority of Trinidad & Tobago even when documents are being lodged with Custom officers prior to the the beginning of the rent period.
Lets sign this petition for justice.

CUSTOMS CLERK – GRADE 1/11
Job Summary:
The Customs Clerk – Grade 1/11 will be required to process customs documentation inclusive of
the Port and Governmental requirements for the company’s import and export operations in a
timely manner. The incumbent must also effectively manage all cost.
Main Responsibilities:
Effectively processes all documentation ensuring that customs, demurrage costs are kept
to a minimum at all times.
To track shipments and retrieve shipping documentations from various parties and ensure
documentations are in accordance with the Customs & Excise requirements prior to
shipment/s arrival
Maintain all container/shipment updates/logs daily and real-time
Required to clear and deliver cargo from all ports of entry
Close all shipments and file all documents.
Minimum Requirements:
Must possess Customs Grade 1/11 License
Proficient in the use of the Asycuda System
Knowledge of Ace Customs Program
Must have at least four (4) years working experience in this field
Working knowledge of Customs procedures and practices relative to processing Imports
and Exports
Versed on Customs Rules and Regulations
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Must be willing to work flexible hours.
Must be able to function in a fast paced environment
Must be the holder of a valid driver’s license
Notes:
1. Interested candidates must be legal residents/citizens of Trinidad and Tobago.

REMINDER: TRINIDAD AND TOBAGO TAX AMNESTY UPDATE:
We wish to remind that there is a Tax Amnesty in effect from 15th June 2019 to 15th September 2019. This Amnesty is one of the provisions made in the Miscellaneous Provisions Bill 2019.
Although the Bill has not yet been assented, the Tax Amnesty intends to waive liabilities on all taxes where the tax is paid on or before the end of the prescribed amnesty period.
The liabilities which will be waived are:
Interest on any outstanding tax due and payable for years up to and including the year ended 31st December 2018.
Outstanding interest charged on any tax due and payable for the years up to and including the year ending 31st December 2018.
All other penalties due and payable on or in respect of any outstanding tax for the years up to and including the year ending 31st December 2018.
All penalties on outstanding returns for the years up to and including the year ended 31st December 2018.
All other penalties with respect to any return for the years up to and including the year ending 31st December 2018 and filed prior to 15th June 2019.
REMINDER OF AMNESTY FROM REGISTRAR GENERAL:
We also wish to remind you of the amnesty from the Registrar General in respect of penalties for the late filing of documents under the Companies Act which is in effect until 31st August 2019.
