Maths is Fun is an organisation that provides services for the learning of Mathematics at various levels. Maths is Fun is spearheaded by Nichola Abraham Evans , a driven educational professional who was born and raised in Trinidad. After obtaining a Masters in Special and Inclusive Needs, specialising in Maths Difficulties,Dyscalculia, Mrs. Abraham Evans observed some recurring gaps in the mathema

tical understanding of students in Trinidad and was committed to address them. Since her return to Trinidad and Tobago she has been an advocate for the advancement and modernisation of mathematical teaching strategies in schools, and runs various train-the-trainer programmes for teachers and professionals. Maths is fun is a well equipped team with experienced staff members who are specialised in different fields. We provide supportive sessions for students of all ages with challenges in the field of mathematics. Before we start working with our students, we do an extensive assessment to understand what could lie at the root of the student’s challenge. Many recurrent challenges can for example linked to lack of number sense, place value misconcepts, a low working memory, or challenges related to dyscalculia, attention disorders or anxiety, just to name a few. All sessions are tailored to a student’s strengths and weaknesses as well as meeting the requirements of the educational institution the student is enrolled in. Our aim is to develop a student specific strategy that will improve their mathematical skills, increase their confidence in the subject and (re-)discover the “fun” in maths. Please note that we work with students of all ages and levels. Based on the results of the assessment we will be able to advise you on the most suitable approach and whether the student would benefit most from learning one-on-one with one of our tutors/teachers, or from a small class of 2-3 students at the same time.
