CSEC CHEMISTRY LESSONS FOR FORM 4 AND 5.

Schedule:

Form 4 - Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. – starting July 17th, 2024.
Form 5 - Tuesdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. – currently underway.

Sessions are held via Zoom.

Students will be provided with soft copy notes and free online access to:

- written past papers (20 years)
- multiple choice past papers (25 years)
- past paper answers, and
- past lab write-ups from most schools in central and north Trinidad (this is a HUGE time saver).

From 2011 to 2024 our students achieved over 90% grade ones.

Savir was in our class for his Form 5 year, which was all that was needed for him to pull of a ‘miracle’ in Chemistry.

This is his account of it:

“My name is Savir Nandoo, a current Form 6 student at Hillview College.

At the CSEC level I attained 7 grade ones and a grade two along with 6 distinctions. One of the subjects I managed to obtain a distinction in was Chemistry which at first was one of my weaker areas.

At the end of Form 4 Term 3, I was only able to score 36% in Chemistry. This got me very worried as there were just two terms left before CSEC exams started. I realised that I needed some extra help in the subject if I was going to pass and decided to enroll in Chemistry lessons at Global with sir.

One of my first interactions with him was when he called me to ascertain what caused me to get 36% in Chemistry as well as what needed to be done going forward to ensure that such an occurrence didn’t happen again.

This made me realise that all hope was not lost and that I would be able to get the help I needed. The classes were quite helpful as sir would move at such a pace for us to understand as well as check in with us to make sure we did. In addition to the valuable notes given in class, he provided us with a folder containing further detailed notes on every topic as well as many past paper questions organised according to topics which he would go through with us.

Over time, I recognised a marked improvement in my understanding and performance in Chemistry as my marks in school started to increase leading up to CSEC exams. Classes ended a few weeks before CSEC but sir made it clear that he would always be open to helping us whenever we needed even up to the day of our Chemistry exam.

Sessions scheduled for Thursdays from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. starting July 13th.
They will be held via Zoom until students write CSEC exams in 2025.

Students will be provided with soft copy notes and free online access to:

- written past papers (10 years)
- multiple choice past papers (15 years)
- past paper answers, and
- past lab write-ups from most schools in central and north Trinidad (this is a HUGE time saver).

From 2011 to 2022 our students achieved over 90% grade ones.

CSEC Parents and Students!

Since 2022 is the most recent paper, it's the one that some students most likely would not have access to.

Also the answers that are out there are not always reliable.

Use the 'slides' which follow to do a quick double check before tomorrow's exam.

Ideally a student should do at least 15 years of multiple choice papers.

We've provided links to as many of those as are available online and also our answers to them.

I did my best to double and triple check answers as they were transferred from my spreadsheet to here so that there will be no errors.

Feel free to message if you see something looking odd or if you want to know the reasoning behind any particular answer.
