It was best! We had a great time
Natsci Nation I have to say that I did enjoy being part of throwing the different events, being involve in the events, playing a role in bring the club to where it is now and having an idea to where the club can and could reach in the near future. I will also like to thank the Natsci nation, COSTAATT population, the enthusiastic lectures of the Natsci. Department and staff, Ms. Wilson for having the confidence in me to take up this role and her continual support, the constant crew of club members that supported each event, and my A team of Executive committee members: Trenelle , Chertika, Emily, Jody, and Mr. Raquib for working hard as a team to bring the club to where it is at now and especially Emily and Jody for the excellent jobs that they did without I having to ask, to make sure events and club matters became a success from the very start to the end of my tenure. Well done and it was nice Natsci.
Natsci. Nation and by extension the COSTAATT population, a brain child of Ms. Anu Singh and assistance from Mr. Kyle Guptar and his cousin, WE the members of the Executive Committee of the Natsci club were able to partner with the Emperor Valley Zoo to become involve with their ZOO CREW volunteer programs starting from next semester in September. The following volunteer programs will not affect your class schedules, you will be given a free volunteer t-shirt by the zoo, a person can volunteer for one program or all of the programs available, depending on the program you may encounter a great number of animals daily with the supervision of their expert zookeepers, and the greater details of these programs will be highlighted by your President Arkkim Noellien. It should be noted that volunteers who wish to undertake these programs should have a great sense of their surrounds at all times when handling the animals at the ZOO because at the end of the day although they are in captivity they are still wild animals and your safety is key. Also especially to the ones who will like to pursue veterinary medicine I believe that these animal encounters will give you better experience and exposure within this field, and may bring one’s dreams in their pursuit full circle. The Programs are: - Zoo Tours - Animal encounter - Slither Time (part of Animal Encounter) - Zoo to You - Animal Talks - Educational Exhibition - ANIMAL ENRICHMENT PROGRAM - ZOOKEEPING PROGRAM - HORTICULTURE/ENVIRONMENTAL MAINTENANCE PROGRAM - Zoo Mascots and - Special zoo events.
Let me be the first to congratulate the next Natsci. President Mr. Arkkim Noellien on his victory and Mr. Adrian Rambally who fought a good fight, which made the results pretty close but unfortunately there were a few exceptions: Mr. Arkkim Noellien – 9, Mr. Adrian Rambally – 7, and two persons were disqualified because one person voted after voting hours and the other voted from an email other than their COSTAATT email. Consequently, Arkkim will take up his duties when the new semester starts for the period 2012-2013. So Natsci.
