🇹🇹✊🏽 Happy Labour Day, Trinidad & Tobago! ✊🏽🇹🇹

Today, we honour the men and women whose hard work, sacrifice, and determination have helped build our nation while paying tribute to Trinidad and Tobago's most influential labour pioneer, Uriah "Buzz" Butler.

Through courage, conviction, and an unwavering commitment to justice, Butler became a trailblazer for the labour movement, championing the rights and dignity of workers at a time when their voices often went unheard. His leadership helped lay the foundation for a more equitable society and demonstrated the power of collective action in creating meaningful change.

As we reflect on his enduring legacy, we are reminded that progress is built through vision, perseverance, and a shared commitment to a better future.

These same principles continue to guide the work of the TTGBC and its Executive. Through our advocacy, education, partnerships, and commitment to sustainable development, we are helping to shape a future where economic growth, environmental stewardship, and social well-being go hand in hand.

Just as Butler's generation worked to secure better opportunities for workers, we are working to create healthier, more resilient, and sustainable communities for generations to come. The legacy we build today will define the Trinidad and Tobago of tomorrow.

On this Labour Day, let us celebrate not only the achievements of the past but also the collective efforts taking place today to build a stronger, greener, and more sustainable nation.

💚 Together, through purpose-driven work and shared responsibility, we can continue creating a legacy of progress.

The TTGBC Executive extends warm Labour Day greetings to all workers, professionals, tradespeople, entrepreneurs, and nation-builders across Trinidad & Tobago.

Happy Labour Day! 🇹🇹

🌎💚 Happy World Environment Day, Trinidad & Tobago! 💚🌎

This year we join the global community in celebrating World Environment Day and reaffirming our commitment to protecting the natural beauty and resources that make our twin-island nation so special. 🇹🇹

From our lush rainforests and vibrant coral reefs to our rivers, coastlines, and diverse wildlife, we all share a responsibility to preserve and protect the environment for future generations.

The Executive of the TTGBC extends warm greetings to all citizens, environmental advocates, community groups, and organizations working tirelessly to create a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable Trinidad & Tobago.

Let us continue to reduce waste, conserve water, plant trees, protect our ecosystems, and inspire others to become environmental stewards. Every positive action, no matter how small, contributes to a healthier planet.

Together, we can build a more sustainable future for our children and generations yet to come.

🌍 Earth Day 2026 Message
From the Executive, Trinidad & Tobago Green Building Council

Today, on Earth Day, we are reminded that the future we build—literally and figuratively—must be rooted in sustainability, resilience, and responsibility.

In Trinidad and Tobago, the impacts of climate change are no longer distant concerns. Rising temperatures, more intense rainfall, flooding, and coastal vulnerability are shaping how we must think about our homes, schools, offices, and communities. The built environment sits at the centre of this reality—and, therefore, at the centre of the solution.

At the TTGBC, our mandate is clear: to promote awareness and provide guidance on policy with regard to designing, constructing and operating buildings that are environmentally responsible, resource-efficient and resilient in our local context.

Sustainable building is not a luxury—it is a necessity. It means:

* Designing for natural ventilation and energy efficiency in our tropical climate
* Using materials and methods that reduce environmental impact
* Managing water wisely, especially in times of both drought and flooding
* Creating spaces that are healthier, safer, and more adaptable for all

But beyond technical solutions, this is about people. It is about empowering homeowners, developers, professionals, and communities with the knowledge to make better choices—choices that reduce risk, lower costs over time, and protect what matters most.

Earth Day is not just a moment of reflection—it is a call to action.

We invite all stakeholders—government, private sector, and citizens—to work with us in advancing a more sustainable built environment for Trinidad and Tobago. Together, we can build not just structures, but resilience. Not just for today, but for generations to come.

🌿 *Let’s build smarter. Let’s build stronger. Let’s build sustainably.*
