Big news from i'deffect Academy ๐ŸŽฎ

We've officially partnered with Coded Arts one of Trinidad's leading game development studios, to bring you our Unity Game Development Foundations Course, launching July 2026.

Here's what makes this special: the top two graduates of the inaugural cohort will have access to an internship pathway with Coded Arts. That means real studio experience, real mentorship, and a real foot in the door of the Caribbean's growing creative tech industry.

We're building something we wish existed when we were starting out; a clear path for Caribbean young people to break into game development without having to leave home to do it.

Huge thanks to the Coded Arts team for believing in this vision with us. Stay tuned โ€” more details coming soon.

Still Googling "what career is right for me" and getting the same generic quizzes? ๐Ÿ‘€

We built something different. Something that actually understands Caribbean careers โ€” and talks back.

Whether you're a student choosing CSEC subjects, a parent helping your child plan ahead, or an educator looking for smarter guidance tools โ€” this is for you.

Watch this. Then ask yourself why nobody did this sooner.

Proud to share that our Senior Product Manager and A.I. Engineer, Tamika Ramkissoon, will be representing I'deffect as a panelist at "Women in A.I. - Ghosts in the Machine" event on April 23rd, hosted by CIBC Caribbean in collaboration with The UWI St. Augustine and the Artificial Intelligence Innovation Centre.

When we started building I'deffect, one of the things that mattered most was ensuring that Caribbean voices, and especially Caribbean women, were not just consumers of A.I., but architects of it. Tami has been central to that mission, leading the development of our A.I. products and helping shape how we think about technology that actually serves this region.
The conversation around who builds A.I., whose data trains it, and whose realities it reflects is one of the most important conversations happening globally right now. The fact that it's happening here, at UWI, with practitioners like Tami at the table, says something about where the Caribbean is headed.

Looking forward to this one.

What role do women in the Caribbean play in shaping the future of artificial intelligence?

Honoured that Ideffect was among the sponsors of the Arthur Lok Jack GSB Alumni Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business Alumni Association's International Women's Day Forum, "Give to Gain: Collaboration Over Competition."

The conversations were real. From Jason A. Cummings making the case that mentorship alone isn't enough, leaders need to sponsor, not just advise, to President Cavelle Joseph-St. Omer challenging the "winner-takes-all" mindset, this wasn't just talk. It was a call to action.

And the moment that inspired me most? Secondary school students in the room, asking bold questions and reminding every leader present exactly why this work matters.

At Ideffect, we exist to open career pathways for the next generation across the Caribbean. Forums like this remind us we don't do it alone - we do it together.

๐Ÿš€ 300+ STUDENTS. ONE QUESTION THAT STOPPED THE ROOM:

Will A.I. replace my career before I even start it?

On Wednesday, the I'deffect Academy team rolled into Vishnu Boys' Hindu College for their Career Day: and what was supposed to be a standard career guidance session turned into one of the most powerful conversations we've had with young people to date.
We brought Mindelv GPT, our AI-powered career guidance platform, live into the classroom.

Students from Forms 1 to 6 stepped up, asked questions about the careers they were curious, and watched in real time as Mindelv mapped out learning paths, salary ranges, university options, and the skills they'd need to get there.

But here's what really hit different: the questions these students asked weren't just about what to study. They wanted to know how artificial intelligence and automation are reshaping careers in law, accounting, medicine, and engineering; the very fields many of them are being encouraged to pursue.

That kind of critical thinking? That's the future of Trinidad and Tobago right there. ๐Ÿ‡น๐Ÿ‡น

To every student who engaged, asked questions, and stayed back after to learn more; we see you. Your curiosity is your greatest competitive advantage.
Massive thank you to the staff and administration at Vishnu Boys' Hindu College for having us back and for creating the space for these conversations.

This is what I'deffect Academy was built for. Career guidance isn't just about choosing a degree โ€” it's about understanding the world you're stepping into.
