Palmeras Learning Centre is a private special school for students with learning disabilities and behavioural disorders. Established in 2002, our mission is to provide a professional and holistic approach to education for students with special needs. Students with special needs usually have low self-esteem and may suffer a lot of anguish and trauma as they may be told that they are ‘duncy’ or ‘stup

id’ by their peers. They can be made to feel very different from their peers simply because they may be unable to follow simple instructions, which for others seem easy. Some may manage to perform reading and spelling tasks but have debilitating problems with more complex language skills such as comprehension, grammar, sequencing and processing information. Others may not be able to sit for long periods of time and follow instructions like other children. It is important to have an understanding of the problems that the child with learning challenges faces. All students possess strengths and at Palmeras we focus on ‘The Abilities’ and not ‘The Disabilities’ of the child. In a positive and encouraging environment, this child will experience the feeling of success and self-value. Our programme provides support to children with the following learning and behavioural challenges:

Autism
Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder
Cerebral Palsy
Intellectual Development Disorder
Mosaic Syndrome
Dsylexia
Poor Memory Skills/Short Attention Span
Difficulty with Reasoning and Logical Thinking
Problems with Visual-Spatial Relationships
Frustrated because he/she is unable to cope in class

Our Programme includes:

• Student Assessments: this identifies the specific weaknesses of the child, which can then be addressed directly in order to enhance your child’s learning experience. Assessments involve testing student readiness in the areas of critical thinking, reading, spelling, writing and mathematics.

• Student Intervention: Based on the findings from the assessments, our intervention programme is tailored to suit the specific individual needs of students with learning difficulties. Much can be done to alleviate the learning and behavioural challenges that our children with special needs face by integrating the child into the learning environment where he/she can feel comfortable and develop confidence and self esteem. Are you passionate about transforming the lives of students with special needs? Our inclusive special education institution is seeking a dedicated and experienced School Manager to lead with compassion, efficiency, and purpose.
Position: School Manager

Start Date: September 2025
Employment Type: Full-time

Key Responsibilities:
•Provide day-to-day leadership in the smooth operation of all school activities and programs.
•Supervise and support teachers and staff to ensure high-quality instruction and student care.
•Conduct regular classroom monitoring and provide constructive feedback to teaching staff.
•Review and ensure implementation of Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) and Schemes of Work in alignment with students’ needs.
•Foster strong parental relationships, addressing concerns and ensuring clear communication about student progress.
•Oversee the implementation and review of school rules, policies, and behavioural expectations.
•Coordinate and evaluate school-wide events, programs, and extracurricular activities.
•Promote a safe, inclusive, and nurturing school environment for all students and staff.

Qualifications and Experience:
•Bachelor's degree in Education, Special Education, School Administration or related field (Master’s preferred).
•Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in education, preferably in a leadership or special needs setting.
•Strong knowledge of IEPs, differentiated instruction, and classroom management.
•Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and leadership skills.
