Our phenomenal, all-female PGHC Tassa Group has broken boundaries by becoming the first all-female team in 42 years to win the prestigious Republic Bank Tassa Taal Competition! 🥇✨
In a clean sweep, these talented young women also captured the People’s Choice Award and the Best Cultural Depiction Award—a landmark achievement for our school and the wider cultural arts community. 🏆🏽❤️

To commemorate this historic win, our dedicated Tassa Coach, Mr. Lenny Kumar, and Principal, Dr. Sharda Maharaj-Ramjattan, joined host Virmala Nishala Balkaran live on TTT. They reflected on the team's incredible journey, the challenges they overcame, and the profound significance of this victory for young women inspiring change in traditionally male-dominated cultural spaces. This was followed by our Tassa Group's wonderful performance of live TV! 🌟✨

🌊Right on the heels of our World Environment Day celebrations, our brilliant Form 3 Soroptimist Club members presented during assembly today to mark World Oceans Day 2026! Through a creative and engaging skit and informative reading, these students highlighted the vital importance of marine conservation and our shared responsibility to protect our global waters.

💙 It also acts as our greatest climate ally, absorbing roughly 30% of human-produced carbon dioxide to buffer the impacts of global warming.

Today, our Form 4 History students attended an enriching lecture by Mr. Raould Simon, Shaman of the San Fernando Warao community. 🪶✨

Mr. Simon captivated the students with a powerful discussion on the heritage, traditions, and ongoing significance of our region's indigenous communities, moving history straight from the textbook into reality. 📚🌍

The session also featured an immersive display of authentic indigenous artifacts, crafts, and literature, giving students a firsthand look at Warao culture.

Heartfelt thanks to Mr. Simon for sharing his time and wisdom, and to our History teacher for organizing this unforgettable experience! 🙌🏽❤️
