Celebrating Heritage

In commemoration of Heritage Month, our Hindi students from Forms 1–3 embarked on a meaningful educational and cultural tour of selected historic and religious sites within the Caroni District.

Students visited the ISHA Ashram and the Lakshmi Narayan Temple in Freeport, where they were immersed in the beauty of Hindu traditions, spirituality and architecture. The tour also included visits to the Indian Caribbean Museum and Art Gallery of Trinidad and Tobago, the Exchange Shiv Mandir, and Mud Sewala which is one of the oldest original standing Hindu temples in Trinidad.

As Holy Faith Convent Couva proudly celebrates its 75th Anniversary, experiences such as these continue to reflect our long-standing commitment to being an inclusive and diverse institution that embraces and respects the rich cultural heritage of our nation.

We extend special thanks to Mrs. Naedia Deonarine and Mrs. Neelum Rajkumar for accompanying and guiding our students throughout this enriching experience.

Where Shakespeare meets Caribbean culture

On Wednesday May 27th, 2026, Form 4 students of Holy Faith Convent Couva had the exciting opportunity to attend Malvolio’s Masquerade by Milwaz Productions. The production was a creative and engaging adaptation inspired by Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night.

The production masterfully incorporated the rich local tradition of Masquerade, using its vibrant characters, music and performance style to parallel the themes, confusion and comedic plot structure of Twelfth Night.

Students were able to experience Shakespeare in a uniquely Caribbean context, making the text more relatable, dynamic and culturally meaningful.

The outing provided an enriching theatrical experience while deepening students’ understanding of characterization, dramatic irony, disguise and performance within the play.

A heartfelt thank you to Milwaz Productions for delivering such an entertaining and thought-provoking performance.
