🚨 BIG CXC UPDATE: Sweeping SBA Reforms Announced for 2027 onwards!

🚨​If you or your child are preparing for CSEC or CAPE exams over the next few years, CXC has announced major changes to how School-Based Assessments (SBAs) will work.

​Here is what you need to know:

​1️⃣ Traditional Take-Home SBAs are being phased out for Non-Practical Subjects
To combat the misuse of Generative AI and protect exam integrity, traditional SBAs for subjects like Mathematics, English, POB, and History are ending.

​2️⃣ Introduction of Paper 032 in Exam Conditions
Instead of a months-long project at home, school candidates will take Paper 032 under exam supervision.

👉 The good news: Students will receive the exam topics 1 month in advance and can bring their research notes right into the exam room!

​3️⃣ Practical Subjects Keep SBAs
Subjects like Visual Arts, Ag Science, Music, Tech Drawing, and Food & Nutrition will keep their practical project SBAs.

​4️⃣ The Timeline
​CAPE: Changes start in May–June 2027.
​CSEC: Transition year in 2027, fully enforced by May–June 2028.

​Transfer Rule: Previous SBA/Paper 032 marks can still be re-used within 2 years!
