Just wanted to throw a spotlight on this special young man.
Ethan (and yes, he's my son) just received a Grade I in CSEC Additional Mathematics. He wrote the exam while in Form 2 at the age of 14. This follows a Grade I he received in CSEC Mathematics in January 2025, an exam he wrote at just 12 years old.
These are exceptional accomplishments but it also shows what can be achieved with a strong foundation in Mathematics. While still in primary school, he had already developed an understanding of fundamental concepts by watching me teach. After SEA, he sat in my Form 4 and Form 5 classes (better than just staring at a device!) and by January, he was ready.
Preparation for Additional Mathematics was a little trickier. We were only able to get a couple of hours on a Sunday together. But quality time beats quantity and the results showed.
Each level of exam was an opportunity for Ethan to expand his knowledge in Mathematics and he enjoyed the challenge. I am happy to have been able to nurture this love of learning in him.
