What is CVQ Certification?
The Caribbean Vocational Qualification (CVQ) is a competency-based certification that proves a person has the practical skills, knowledge and attitude required to perform a specific job or occupation.

Caribbean Examinations Council
It is based on industry occupational standards approved across CARICOM and awarded by the Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC).

Instead of only writing exams, students must demonstrate competence through practical work and portfolios.
CVQ Levels
Level 1 – Entry level worker
Level 2 – Skilled worker under supervision
Level 3 – Independent skilled worker
Level 4 – Supervisory level

Availability of CVQ in Trinidad and Tobago
In Trinidad and Tobago, CVQ programmes are coordinated by the National Training Agency of Trinidad and Tobago (NTA) through TVET institutions and secondary schools.
