**October is DYSLEXIA AWARENESS Month**

As we this month, stick around as we explore the ‘What is, Signs, Myths’ etc. As well as our activities and giveaways.

Everyone has different ways of learning. While some students will successfully excel in a traditional classroom where the model of education focuses solely on ‘chalk and talk’, another child will require a more hands-on approach to understand the concepts.

Completing the national curriculum may require modification for some students. These modifications can be, but not limited to:

- [ ] Assignment modifications
- [ ] Etc.

** EARLY INTERVENTION IS IMPORTANT**

Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a difference in the brain that allows people to experience the world differently. Because it is a spectrum condition, no two autistic persons are the same. However, there are commonalities such as behaviour, emotional regulations, sensitivity to stimuli and social communication.

Autism is NOT an illness or something that needs to be fixed.

Remediation simply means 'teaching the content again/re-teaching' to students that had previously failed to grasp the content taught. Often times it mean changing the teaching method, the instruction or the amount of time interacting with the content.
