On a beautiful sunny day, an easy hike to the Mermaid Pool located in Matura is a wise decision! This hike starts on the road up an incline where you are surround by lush green trees. Numerous butterflies accompany you as you make your way to the track. The track is where you begin descending towards the pool.

Along the way you are mesmerized by the beautiful pine trees. Pine needles cover the ground creating a cushiony feel under your feet…. Yes, there was a fallen tree (a big one), climb over or pass below… now you can hear the water flowing…..

Excitement filled the air as the young hikers knew the pools were near! Oh my… nature provided us with steps! Steps created by roots helped us descend. Here the emerald green water peeped through the trees… “WAW Miss!!!! It’s so beautiful”…… however, don’t let the beauty distract you. That area was a little tricky but very doable for the kids!

At last! The emerald green pools welcomed us. A truly tranquil feeling! Soon, It was time to take the plunge!
