ÇEVRE COLLEGE 19th ELT CONFERENCE
On February 15, 2025, the Çevre College English Department hosted English teachers from all over Turkey at its Erenköy campus for the 19th annual ELT conference.
Titled "The Language of Love: Transforming Classrooms with Compassion," the conference featured keynote speakers Prof. Dr. Yavuz Samur, Paul Seligson, and Anna Hasper, who shared inspiring success stories while offering opportunities to explore innovative strategies and incorporate love and compassion into teaching methodologies. They also introduced various activities highlighting the role of emotional intelligence in education.
The conference included eight simultaneous workshops, allowing teachers to engage in hands-on training, and provided an opportunity to visit stands from nearly 20 international publishing houses. Our guest of honour, Bora Öztoprak, added to the excitement with a captivating musical performance.

Çevre Koleji İngilizce Bölümü, 15 Şubat 2025 tarihinde 19. geleneksel ELT konferansında Türkiye'nin dört bir yanından gelen İngilizce öğretmenlerini Erenköy kampüsünde ağırladı.
"The Language of Love: Transforming Classrooms with Compassion" başlıklı konferansın ana konuşmacıları Prof Dr Yavuz Samur, Paul Seligson, ve Anna Hasper yenilikçi stratejiler keşfetmemize ve öğretim metodolojilerimize sevgi ve şefkati nasıl dahil edebileceğimize dair fırsatlar sunarken ilham verici başarı hikayeleri paylaştılar ve eğitimde duygusal zekanın rolü üzerine çeşitli aktiviteler önerdiler. Eş zamanlı devam eden 8 farklı eğitim atölyesinin de bulunduğu konferansta öğretmenler, yaklaşık 20 yabancı yayınevinin stantlarını gezme fırsatı da buldular. Onur konuğumuz Bora Öztoprak, şarkılarıyla herkese coşkulu anlar yaşattı.

ÇEVRE KOLEJİ 18. ELT KONFERANSI

Çevre Koleji İngilizce Bölümü, 24 Nisan 2024 tarihinde 18. geleneksel ELT konferansında Türkiye'nin dört bir yanından gelen İngilizce öğretmenlerini Erenköy kampüsünde ağırladı.

"A New Era: Catch the Rhythm of ELT" başlıklı konferans, Paul Zarraga'nın canlı bir ısınma seansıyla başladı. Konferansın konuşmacıları Paul Seligson, Alexandra Green, Gülfem Aslan ve Russell Stannard, değişen çağda dönüşen metotlar ve teknikler hakkında bilgi verdi ve çeşitli aktiviteler önerdi. Onur konuğumuz Metin Özülkü, şarkılarıyla herkese coşkulu anlar yaşattı. İkinci onur konuğumuz Fuat Güner ise hayatın içindeki ritmi yakalamak için yapılması gerekenleri çerçevesinde herkese ilham verdi. Bu konferans aynı zamanda İngilizce öğretmenlerinin 20'den fazla yayıncının stantlarını ziyaret etmelerini ve yeni yayınlar hakkında fikir edinmelerini sağladı.

ÇEVRE COLLEGE 18TH ELT CONFERENCE
Çevre College English Department hosted English teachers from all around Turkey on April 24, 2024, at the 18th traditional ELT conference held at the Erenköy campus.

The conference titled "A New Era: Catch the Rhythm of ELT" commenced with a lively warm-up session by Paul Zarraga. The speakers of the conference, Paul Seligson, Alexandra Green, Gülfem Aslan, and Russell Stannard provided information on evolving methods and techniques in the changing era and suggested various activities. Our guest of honour, Metin Özülkü, brought lively moments to everyone with his songs. The second guest of honour, Fuat Güner, inspired everyone within the framework of what needs to be done to capture the rhythm of life. The conference also allowed English teachers to visit the stands of more than 20 publishers and gain insights into new publications.

Paul Zarraga is at 18th Çevre College ELT Conference! Together, let’s pioneer transformative approaches that will shape the new future of language education.

Paul Zarraga has worked in education for a good many years, primarily as a teacher of English and drama and as a teacher trainer. He has presented at conferences the length of breadth of Turkey and was one half of The Henry Brothers an irreverent ELT double act. He was a presenter on the television programme, İngilizce (English) on Turkish television (TRT OKUL) and when theatre went virtual, he performed in a number of plays with Speech Bubbles and started working with Pop Up Theatre as part of their ‘Lockdown Project’. He is currently playing Sherlock Holmes in Pop Up Theatre’s popular podcast series now in its third season, and recently wrote and performed an adapted version of Şahmaran at the Thornhill Theatre Festival. He runs Outwoods English, a forest school out in the styx, which focuses on teaching English through drama, art and storytelling.
