The Great Offensive, which began on August 26, 1922, marked a historic turning point that changed the course of the War of Independence.

Launched on the orders of our Great Leader, Mustafa Kemal Pasha, the offensive paved the way for the great victory in the Battle of the Commander-in-Chief on August 30 and the liberation of Izmir on September 9.

On the anniversary of this historic day, which carried a nation’s will for independence to victory, we commemorate all our heroes—especially Great Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and his comrades-in-arms—with respect, gratitude, and prayers.

26 Ağustos 1922'de başlayan Büyük Taarruz, Milli Mücadele'nin kaderini değiştiren tarihi bir dönüm noktası oldu.

Ulu Önderimiz Mustafa Kemal Paşa'nın emriyle başlayan harekat, 30 Ağustos Başkomutanlık Meydan Muharebesi'ndeki büyük zaferin ve 9 Eylül'de İzmir'in kurtuluşunun yolunu açtı.
