November is approaching and soon you'll all feel tired before Christmas even arrives. Join us on live tomorrow to talk about teacher burnt out. Why does it happen and how to avoid it?

And no, going to Turkey is not a solution.

Starting new classes during adversity be like...

Planning lesson for A2 level and A1 level is a little similar only if the two classes are similar to one another. However, they were different so one group we are using templates from diagrams and tables to speak and another group we use more role playing scripts first.

They are similar only if A2 level also uses a script. The language would have to be a wee bit more challenging though.

Chinese class back on action after a summer break! They said they didn't remember a thing, but as the lesson progresses, everyone remembers. Funny kids.

Still on the topic : 动物

Happy to have something to announce. We finished our second round of Solving the Money Puzzle course! Missing a lot of other photos and videos unfortunately as our laptop broke down right afterwards and lost all the data! Looks like we and the laptop need some rest before starting our third round!

THE NEWS HABIT ☕️📰📺

Encourage your students’ news reading / viewing / listening habits, whether it be in their L1 or in English.
Keeping up with current events on a regular basis will provide the background knowledge for topics studied in the current affairs classroom.
This should also make the transition into English mode a little smoother, a little less intimidating and perhaps less stressful.

🙌

Hope you’re having a cool Monday!

🕌I love visiting the Mosques because it is a sacred place to think about our values and what we have accomplished so far. This is where it leads to my thoughts on my former trainee.

As time has passed and she has finished her course already, I decided to motivate her to blog something since she was one of my strongest trainee in the group. Here is what came up with:

🛴Филлеры? Fillers!

Филлеры в косметологии - вопрос неоднозначный, а вот на уроках английского без fillers никуда! У многих есть любимые приемчики. Но иногда хочется чего-то новенького! В этой рубрике я буду выбирать filler of the day, прикидывать, чем он может пригодиться, а где дать осечку, а потом буду использовать filler of the day в своих группах (Super Minds 2, Gateway B1) и смотреть, насколько точным оказался прогноз.
Who is it? I guess/ I think you are….
Этот вопрос каждый раз меняется, он связан с текущей темой (What day comes before Friday? What is your favourite weather in summer?)

Enjoy!🌺

Last Saturday we had our 3rd session of Solving the Monkey Puzzle Course in.... ISTANBUL (online of course, lol)! It was a productive session with our trainee on lesson planning. What do you think? How does SMART help us with our lesson planning? ;)

Next week shall be back in Kusadasi to do the online training session! ;)

What better thing to do besides doing a teacher training session during my short "staycation"? hehe... Today's topic is on Classroom Management and Routines. Is everyone ready to deal with the school year? I heard some countries are going on lockdown again. Wish you all luck being back online!

Moments of reflection during my social media break with some disruptions of course and here are my main points I came up with for not just entrepreneur teachers, but also those who are single as well.

Having a strict policy and raising your lesson fees is not a cruel thing to do, but it is your protection. It will also help you with having a high standard.

Being single and a female blogger here isn't easy. You get creepy men sliding into your DMs pretending they want lessons with you or they DO want lessons from you,but they most likely can't pay you more than 10$ per hour, which isn't ideal because you need to think about saving for vacation or emergency etc...

During my social media break and why I said some disruption is because I got stopped by one of those creepy men pretending he was serious about having offline lesson and was quite pushy that I did not respond to his "hi" message. No offence meant, but in my personal time, if I don't know a man and never had a solid conversation with them. I do not appreciate being interrupted in my free time when I am taking a break from social media and work.

My standard was:"my classes are pricey as well like the schools you mentioned and I do only online classes."

When you have these standards, you then get an idea how is the "potential" student. Do you ask you for something else? Like, invitation to cafe without lesson? No, you are neither a free teacher or a hoe, so now you know this student would not work on a long run because 1. he did not respect your boundaries and stopped you from reading your book aggressively. 2. They are not patient with your replying time. 3. You see his intentions are not 100% pure and will eventually waste your time.

With my strict policy and high standards, I saved myself more time and future troubles.
