MEF International Schools had the pleasure of visiting MATRADE Istanbul.

Head of School Ms. Elvan Tongal and School Principal Ms. Lauren Fajobi met with Mr Sadat Anak Foster Maad, Director and Trade Commissioner and a valued MEF parent, and Mr Muhammad Syafiq Muhammad Salim, Deputy Director of the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation.

We shared our plans for the upcoming academic year and were delighted to hear their positive reflections on MEF International School.

We are thrilled to share some extraordinary news with our school community! Our Grade 8 students have delivered an outstanding performance in the May 2026 Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint examinations, making this year’s results the strongest MEF IS has achieved in the past four years. 🏆🌟

​MEF IS students outperformed the world average across all subjects:
​English: MEFIS Average 35 | International Average: 34
​English as a Second Language (ESL): MEFIS Average 32 | International Average: 29
​Mathematics: MEFIS Average 34 | International Average: 31
​Science: MEFIS Average 32 | International Average: 31

​📈Remarkable Year-over-Year Growth
​This cohort demonstrated incredible growth across the board, raising our scores significantly compared to last year’s results:
​🇬🇧 English: Rose from 33 to 35
​🗣️ESL: A remarkable jump from 22 to 32
​📐Mathematics: Increased from 28 to 34
​🧪Science: Advanced from 29 to 32
​We saw particularly strong performances in English reading, Mathematics number skills, and Biology & scientific thinking. 🧠💡

Our World Scholar's Cup team just returned from the Global Round in Prague, Czech Republic (July 9–16), and we are bursting with pride! As first-time competitors, they represented MEF IS with incredible heart, teamwork, and brilliance. They didn’t just show up—they showed OUT!

THE BIG NEWS: Our team has officially qualified for the prestigious Tournament of Champions at Yale University this November 2026! From first-time competitors to a Yale qualifier... that’s not luck. That’s pure grit, weeks of intense preparation, and unwavering belief in one another.

A Legendary Milestone: A massive shoutout and special thanks to our Teacher-Coach, Ms. Elizabeth! She has been coaching WSC for 13 years across 4 different schools before joining our MEF IS community this year and bringing the program back on board. To celebrate her incredible dedication, Ms. Elizabeth was awarded the Coach of the Tredecennial (13-Year Anniversary Coach) at the Prague Global Round!

​We can’t wait to cheer them on as they take on the world at Yale. What an unbelievable start to their WSC journey!
