🇪🇺✨ Edulifelong at Târgu Jiu Erasmus Connect! ✨🇪🇺

Edulifelong was happy to take part in Târgu Jiu Erasmus Connect, a two-day event organized by Scout Society in partnership with Erasmus+ Ambassadors Gorj, bringing together education, civil society, local authorities, and the business sector.

📌 The event aimed to make Erasmus+ projects more visible and accessible to the local community and to encourage new collaborations for 2026.

🤝 During the Networking Carousel, we were glad to disseminate our IDEALS project, share educational results, and exchange ideas with schools and organizations from the county.

📚 𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐒 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 – 𝐏𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐭𝐡𝐞 “𝐆𝐢𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐩𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐚” 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲

Yesterday evening at 9 PM, the IDEALS project was presented to the local community at the 𝐆𝐢𝐮𝐬𝐞𝐩𝐩𝐞 𝐋𝐞𝐬𝐜𝐚 𝐌𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐥 𝐋𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐫𝐲 in San Benedetto del Tronto.

The session was led by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐄𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢, with the support of Prof. Luciano Zazzetti and Prof. Lidia Bartolomei. Several students involved in the project also collaborated in the presentation, sharing their experience and perspectives on democratic participation and intercultural dialogue.

It was an important moment to bring the project closer to citizens and highlight the work carried out by students and teachers throughout these months.

Today, a group of 15 students, accompanied by their teacher and our colleagues Liviu and Alina from Asociatia Edulifelong , took part in the workshop “European Dialogue in a Space of Knowledge” at the Europe Direct Centre. 💬📘

In an open and inspiring atmosphere, students received valuable insights about:
📌 how the European Union works,
📌 how decisions are made that shape our daily lives,
📌 the EU’s priorities for the years ahead.

It was a day dedicated to discovering how democratic institutions function — directly from the places where decisions are shaped and shared, helping young people understand the importance of participation and informed citizenship. 🌍🤝

💡 Today’s youth are tomorrow’s active European citizens.
We are proud to see them curious, engaged, and eager to learn more about the world they are part of. 💙💛

As part of our IDEALS project activities, a group of italian students from Liceo "Rosetti" took part in a full day dedicated to discovering how democratic institutions work — directly from the places where decisions are made.
The visit was coordinated and accompanied by 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐄𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐢, 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐋𝐢𝐝𝐢𝐚 𝐁𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐢 and 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟. 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐚𝐫𝐚 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐫𝐢.

🟦 In the morning, students followed a civic itinerary across Italy’s key democratic buildings: 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐳𝐨 𝐌𝐚𝐝𝐚𝐦𝐚, 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐢𝐨, 𝐏𝐚𝐥𝐚𝐳𝐳𝐨 𝐂𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐢, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐐𝐮𝐢𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐢𝐝𝐨𝐠𝐥𝐢𝐨.

🟨 𝐀𝐟𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐨𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐭 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐨 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐚 – 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞
In the afternoon, the group visited 𝐒𝐩𝐚𝐳𝐢𝐨 𝐄𝐮𝐫𝐨𝐩𝐚, the educational space of the European Parliament and Commission. Students were divided into two groups:

🔹 𝐸𝑢𝑟𝑜𝑝𝑒 𝑜𝑛 𝑡ℎ𝑒 𝑏𝑖𝑔 𝑠𝑐𝑟𝑒𝑒𝑛: a dynamic presentation on EU history and institutions, followed by an interactive quiz.
🔹 𝐸𝑈 𝑅𝑜𝑙𝑒-𝑃𝑙𝑎𝑦𝑖𝑛𝑔 𝐺𝑎𝑚𝑒: a simulation of the European Parliament where students, divided into four political groups, negotiated to reach a shared compromise through a multimedia, step-by-step experience.

The activity left students 𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐡𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐚𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩𝐥𝐲 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐝, offering a meaningful example of 𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 and helping young people understand and experience democratic participation in Italy and Europe.

🇪🇺𝐈𝐃𝐄𝐀𝐋𝐒 – 𝟑𝐫𝐝 𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐣𝐞𝐜𝐭 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 | 𝐈𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐛𝐮𝐥 🇹🇷

From 𝟕 𝐭𝐨 𝟗 𝐍𝐨𝐯𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟓, partners from the IDEALS project (𝐼𝑛𝑡𝑒𝑟𝑐𝑢𝑙𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑎𝑙 𝐷𝑒𝑚𝑜𝑐𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑐 𝐸𝑑𝑢𝑐𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑜𝑛 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐿𝑖𝑓𝑒 𝑆𝑘𝑖𝑙𝑙𝑠) gathered in 𝐈𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐛𝐮𝐥 for the third and final in-person transnational meeting.

The first day featured the 𝐌𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐢𝐩𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐄𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 “𝐃𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐃𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐘𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐕𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞𝐬”, which highlighted the importance of empowering young people to take an active role in democratic life and intercultural dialogue.

During the following sessions, partners reviewed the 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬, 𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐬, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 of the project — including the e-course “𝑇𝑒𝑎𝑐ℎ 𝑓𝑜𝑟 𝐹𝑢𝑡𝑢𝑟𝑒 𝐴𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝐶𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑧𝑒𝑛𝑠”, the web platform, and the 𝐶𝑜𝑜𝑝𝑒𝑟𝑎𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑒 𝐴𝑐𝑡𝑖𝑣𝑖𝑡𝑖𝑒𝑠 𝑀𝑎𝑛𝑢𝑎𝑙.

The meeting concluded with a forward-looking discussion on 𝐟𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐚𝐛𝐨𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐚𝐥 𝐞𝐱𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞, reaffirming the project’s shared commitment to democratic citizenship and youth participation.

🌐 𝗢𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟮𝟰 – 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗗𝗮𝘆 🇺🇳

Today we celebrate the founding of the 𝗨𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗡𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 (𝟭𝟵𝟰𝟱) — a symbol of global cooperation and a commitment to peace, human rights, and sustainable development.

In a world often divided by conflict and inequality, the UN reminds us that 𝗱𝗶𝗮𝗹𝗼𝗴𝘂𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗱𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝘁𝗵𝘀 𝘁𝗼𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱 𝗮 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗱 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲.

Our Erasmus+ project stands by these principles, empowering young people to act as global citizens — ready to listen, engage, and work together across borders for a fairer and more democratic world.

🇪🇺 🕊️ 𝐈𝐧 𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢 (“𝐌𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐚 𝐄𝐫𝐚𝐬𝐦𝐮𝐬”)

We honour the life and legacy of 𝐒𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐚 𝐂𝐨𝐫𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐢, the Italian pedagogist and visionary who brought to life the Erasmus programme, enabling millions of young people across Europe to study abroad and build a shared European identity.

Born in Rome in 1934, Corradi studied law and later went to the United States on a Fulbright scholarship. When her American degree was not recognised in Italy, she turned that experience into a mission to create mobility and recognition of study across borders. Her advocacy led to the launch of the Erasmus programme in 1987.

Her passing at age 91 has been reported recently, and her family described her as a woman “of great energy and intellectual and emotional generosity”.

As a project dedicated to youth participation, democratic engagement and intercultural exchange, we reflect on how her work deeply resonates with our mission. Let’s carry forward her vision: enabling young people to move, learn, engage, and become active citizens of Europe.

Democracy is not just about elections — it is about 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐝𝐢𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 in everyday life.

On this International Day of Democracy, we are reminded that 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐭𝐡 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐚𝐥 to building fairer, more inclusive, and resilient societies.

Through our Erasmus+ project, we encourage young people to:

Literacy is more than the ability to read and write — it is the foundation of 𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐩𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐞𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐰𝐞𝐫𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲.

On this International Literacy Day, we recognize that millions of people around the world still lack access to education, and that building inclusive, literate societies is key to ensuring that 𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐲 𝐯𝐨𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐛𝐞 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐝.

For young people, literacy opens the door to 𝐜𝐫𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐤𝐢𝐧𝐠, 𝐜𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐜 𝐞𝐧𝐠𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐜𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐳𝐞𝐧𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐩 — values at the heart of our Erasmus+ project.

It is a call for young people everywhere to stand up for 𝐣𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞, 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 in their communities.

Our Erasmus+ project believes in the power of youth to transform memory into action, ensuring that such violations of human rights never happen again.

Today, we honor the legacy of a man who turned 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, and 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐨𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲. His lifelong fight for 𝐟𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐨𝐦, 𝐝𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐞𝐪𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐲 continues to inspire new generations.
