Edulifelong was happy to take part in Tรขrgu Jiu Erasmus Connect, a two-day event organized by Scout Society in partnership with Erasmus+ Ambassadors Gorj, bringing together education, civil society, local authorities, and the business sector.

๐Ÿ“Œ The event aimed to make Erasmus+ projects more visible and accessible to the local community and to encourage new collaborations for 2026.

๐Ÿค During the Networking Carousel, we were glad to disseminate our IDEALS project, share educational results, and exchange ideas with schools and organizations from the county.

The crisis in Gaza is not a natural disaster. It is a man-made catastrophe.

On this International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People, we cannot turn a blind eye. While the world watches, Israel are wiping out entire generations, reducing schools and hospitals to rubble.

In the West Bank, settler violence and forced displacement are stealing both land and the future from Palestinian families day by day.

True solidarity requires the courage to call things by their names. As the IDEALS project, we stand for human rights and justice. We call for an end to the occupation.

Yesterday evening at 9 PM, the IDEALS project was presented to the local community at the ๐†๐ข๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ž๐ฉ๐ฉ๐ž ๐‹๐ž๐ฌ๐œ๐š ๐Œ๐ฎ๐ง๐ข๐œ๐ข๐ฉ๐š๐ฅ ๐‹๐ข๐›๐ซ๐š๐ซ๐ฒ in San Benedetto del Tronto.

The session was led by ๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ. ๐„๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐š ๐Œ๐š๐ซ๐ข๐ง๐ž๐ฅ๐ฅ๐ข, with the support of Prof. Luciano Zazzetti and Prof. Lidia Bartolomei. Several students involved in the project also collaborated in the presentation, sharing their experience and perspectives on democratic participation and intercultural dialogue.

It was an important moment to bring the project closer to citizens and highlight the work carried out by students and teachers throughout these months.

Today, a group of 15 students, accompanied by their teacher and our colleagues Liviu and Alina from Asociatia Edulifelong , took part in the workshop โ€œEuropean Dialogue in a Space of Knowledgeโ€ at the Europe Direct Centre. ๐Ÿ’ฌ๐Ÿ“˜

In an open and inspiring atmosphere, students received valuable insights about:

๐Ÿ“Œ how decisions are made that shape our daily lives,
๐Ÿ“Œ the EUโ€™s priorities for the years ahead.

It was a day dedicated to discovering how democratic institutions function โ€” directly from the places where decisions are shaped and shared, helping young people understand the importance of participation and informed citizenship. ๐ŸŒ๐Ÿค

As part of our IDEALS project activities, a group of italian students from Liceo "Rosetti" took part in a full day dedicated to discovering how democratic institutions work โ€” directly from the places where decisions are made.

In the afternoon, the group visited ๐’๐ฉ๐š๐ณ๐ข๐จ ๐„๐ฎ๐ซ๐จ๐ฉ๐š, the educational space of the European Parliament and Commission. Students were divided into two groups:

๐Ÿ”น ๐ธ๐‘ข๐‘Ÿ๐‘œ๐‘๐‘’ ๐‘œ๐‘› ๐‘กโ„Ž๐‘’ ๐‘๐‘–๐‘” ๐‘ ๐‘๐‘Ÿ๐‘’๐‘’๐‘›: a dynamic presentation on EU history and institutions, followed by an interactive quiz.
๐Ÿ”น ๐ธ๐‘ˆ ๐‘…๐‘œ๐‘™๐‘’-๐‘ƒ๐‘™๐‘Ž๐‘ฆ๐‘–๐‘›๐‘” ๐บ๐‘Ž๐‘š๐‘’: a simulation of the European Parliament where students, divided into four political groups, negotiated to reach a shared compromise through a multimedia, step-by-step experience.

We honour the life and legacy of ๐’๐จ๐Ÿ๐ข๐š ๐‚๐จ๐ซ๐ซ๐š๐๐ข, the Italian pedagogist and visionary who brought to life the Erasmus programme, enabling millions of young people across Europe to study abroad and build a shared European identity.

Born in Rome in 1934, Corradi studied law and later went to the United States on a Fulbright scholarship. When her American degree was not recognised in Italy, she turned that experience into a mission to create mobility and recognition of study across borders. Her advocacy led to the launch of the Erasmus programme in 1987.

Her passing at age 91 has been reported recently, and her family described her as a woman โ€œof great energy and intellectual and emotional generosityโ€.

As a project dedicated to youth participation, democratic engagement and intercultural exchange, we reflect on how her work deeply resonates with our mission. Letโ€™s carry forward her vision: enabling young people to move, learn, engage, and become active citizens of Europe.

Literacy is more than the ability to read and write โ€” it is the foundation of ๐ฉ๐š๐ซ๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ข๐ฉ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, ๐ž๐ฆ๐ฉ๐จ๐ฐ๐ž๐ซ๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐๐ž๐ฆ๐จ๐œ๐ซ๐š๐œ๐ฒ.

On this International Literacy Day, we recognize that millions of people around the world still lack access to education, and that building inclusive, literate societies is key to ensuring that ๐ž๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฒ ๐ฏ๐จ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐œ๐š๐ง ๐›๐ž ๐ก๐ž๐š๐ซ๐.

For young people, literacy opens the door to ๐œ๐ซ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐š๐ฅ ๐ญ๐ก๐ข๐ง๐ค๐ข๐ง๐ , ๐œ๐ข๐ฏ๐ข๐œ ๐ž๐ง๐ ๐š๐ ๐ž๐ฆ๐ž๐ง๐ญ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐š๐œ๐ญ๐ข๐ฏ๐ž ๐œ๐ข๐ญ๐ข๐ณ๐ž๐ง๐ฌ๐ก๐ข๐ฉ โ€” values at the heart of our Erasmus+ project.

Today we remember one of the darkest chapters in human history โ€” the transatlantic slave trade โ€” and honor the struggles of those who resisted oppression and fought for freedom.

This day reminds us that the fight against slavery, racism, and all forms of discrimination is not over.
It is a call for young people everywhere to stand up for ๐ฃ๐ฎ๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐œ๐ž, ๐๐ข๐ ๐ง๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ, ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ช๐ฎ๐š๐ฅ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ in their communities.

Our Erasmus+ project believes in the power of youth to transform memory into action, ensuring that such violations of human rights never happen again.
