Formed by 103 Study Abroad Counseling Agencies in July 2013 to set service standards for the study abroad counseling business and to bring the whole sector together, YEDAD (Study Abroad Counselors and Agencies Association) is the biggest and most well-attended association of the study abroad sector in Turkey. ad sector, partnering with NGOs, official institutions and embassies/consulates in Turkey, also educational establishments and professional bodies abroad. The perseverance of these efforts is to get all of the attendees of the sector together in the common grounds in terms of the study abroad business. The main purpose of YEDAD is, with its own auto-control system, to help the sector run smoothly by educating its members through courses, seminars, conferences and panels, leading to prevent potential grievances faced by the students who travel abroad via its member agencies. The association has the vision to secure all the study abroad counselors, study abroad companies and agencies to gather under the same title of “Study Abroad Counselors and Agencies Union” to be defined by law. Whereas the mission of the association is to guarantee the sustainable trust to the sector by raising the service standards of study abroad business, determining the criteria for the high standards, to establish the sector-specific union to track the application of these criteria in the business and to initiate the necessary attempts to the related authorities. Along with being legitimate companies which run by Turkish Republic’s laws and regulations, all of the members of YEDAD meet the requirements of the Law of Associations and accept to work towards the direction of the association.
