Since 2001, the Electronic Village Online
(EVO) has functioned as a virtual extension of the Electronic Village (EV), a
project of TESOL’s CALL Interest Section, and provided free online professional
development sessions for language teachers world-wide.
Could you help us develop timely topics and
recruit moderators by distributing our Call for Proposals to your list? The

Proposals may be on any topic
relevant to the teaching of English to speakers of other languages. Proposals
are due by September 25, 2018. A
development
session will be held for all moderators and co-moderators from October 21 to November 18, 2018. During this time moderating teams will create the online spaces for their session and finalize their syllabus with the assistance of the EVO Coordination Team. The actual five-week EVO sessions for this season will take place between January 13 and February 17, 2019.

Dear Colleagues,
Are you and/or your colleagues being swept away by the tsunami of tech applications available for teachers and learners? The SL PowerTech Teacher Training Program can be your life boat to help you navigate safely towards successful technology-integrated teaching and learning.
We are very happy to announce that this year's program will be running between August 21-25, 2017 on Sabancı University campus
Supervised by Deniz Kurtoğlu Eken and run by the talented members of SL's Online Learning Support Project (OLSP) team, Adam Simpson, Burça Çapkan and Sibel Taşkın Şimşek, the SL PowerTech TT Program is designed to provide a fast-track introduction to the use of technology in teaching and learning and aims to help English language professionals who feel the need to develop the knowledge, skills and awareness required for the effective integration of technology into classroom practices. The program aims to cater for the training and development needs of participants in their everyday teaching practices and following the program, encourages them to share their learning and experience with their colleagues and institutions.
