We are so excited to reveal our brand new Book Swap Pod, a vibrant little space designed to spark imagination, encourage reading and help our children discover new stories every day. 🌟📖

A huge thank you to the wonderful local library staff for officially opening it for us and for all their support in helping our pupils develop a lifelong love of reading.

And a massive thank you to our brilliant School Council for all their hard work, ideas and teamwork in helping to bring this project to life. Your dedication has made this possible. 💙🙌

We cannot wait to see our children swapping books, sharing recommendations and diving into new adventures. Happy reading, everyone. 💙

🌄🚌 We’ve Arrived at the Lakes! 🚌🌄

Our children have made it safely to the Lake District and are now at St Thomas’s School — full of excitement and ready for a day to remember! 💙 The joy on their faces as they reunited with their friends from St Thomas’s was just wonderful to see. 🤝✨

First up is a tasty lunch to recharge their energy 🍎🥪, before heading off to the adventure park for some fun and games, and then finishing the day with something truly special — a cruise along the stunning Lake Windermere. 🚤🌊⛰️

The children can’t wait to dive into all the adventures ahead — what an incredible way to start our time in the Lakes! 🌟

🌞📚 The Last Day of School of 2024/2025 Academic Year! 📚🌞

Today marks the final day of another unforgettable school year at Parkinson Lane — a day that will be filled with laughter, reflection… and maybe a few tears. 💙

We’ll be celebrating all our incredible children, and of course, saying a heartfelt goodbye to our amazing Year 6 leavers, who are ready to spread their wings and soar into the next chapter of their journey. 🕊️✨ You’ve made us proud every step of the way — your legacy will live on in our corridors, classrooms, and memories. 🎓🌟

It’s going to be a joyful, emotional, and beautiful final day — full of hugs, smiles, and sunshine as we send everyone off for a well-earned summer break. 🏖️🌻

From the first whistle at the start of the season to the final celebration today, these girls have shown determination, passion, skill, and unbelievable teamwork week in, week out. 💪💙
Every player gave it their all – whether they were scoring goals, making tackles, or lifting each other up with smiles and support.

An incredible achievement from our Under-9 girls’ team, who are now officially West Yorkshire Champions! 🥇👏

They delivered a series of outstanding performances, beating schools from across the region — and have now earned the amazing honour of representing West Yorkshire at the Yorkshire County Finals… held at the world-famous Headingley Stadium! 🏏💫

This iconic ground is home to Yorkshire CCC and has hosted legends of the game — from Botham to Root — and now our girls will walk onto that very same pitch. 🙌🔥

We couldn’t be prouder of the team and their coaches — this is more than a win, it’s a moment of history for Parkinson Lane. Let’s bring it home at Headingley! 💙💛

Debut Day, Victory Day! ⚽🔥

Our amazing Under 9 Girls Footballers stepped onto the pitch in their brand-new kit—and what a debut it was! Looking sharp and playing even sharper, the girls put on a brilliant performance to secure a fantastic win against Greetland.

Exploring the Majestic Grounds of Topkapi Palace! 🇹🇷👑

Today, we had the amazing opportunity to explore the stunning grounds of Topkapi Palace, once the heart of the Ottoman Empire! While we didn’t go inside the palace itself, we wandered through its beautiful gardens and courtyards, with breathtaking views over the Bosphorus Strait. The palace’s exterior is as grand as its history, offering us a glimpse into the opulence of the past.

Topkapi Palace was constructed by Sultan Mehmed II in 1459, shortly after his conquest of Constantinople. It became the center of the Ottoman Empire for nearly 400 years, housing not only the royal family but also the administrative, military, and judicial leaders of the empire. The palace grounds include lush gardens, such as the Third Courtyard, which once served as the sultan’s private garden, and the Sultan’s Gate, the entrance to the inner palace where many state events took place.

We also explored Gülhane Park, a beautiful green space that was once part of the palace grounds. This park, which stretches alongside the palace, was originally the imperial garden where the sultans enjoyed leisure and peaceful walks. Over the centuries, it became a symbol of the Ottoman Empire’s wealth and splendor. Today, it’s a popular public park where locals and tourists alike can enjoy the beauty and tranquility that once surrounded the palace.

In its prime, Topkapi Palace was the seat of absolute power, housing the Harem, where the sultan’s family and concubines lived, and the Imperial Treasury, which contained the wealth of the empire. The grounds alone are a testament to the grandeur of the Ottoman sultans, who ruled vast territories across Europe, Asia, and Africa.

Exploring these grounds has been an incredible experience, offering us a deeper connection to the Ottoman Empire’s legacy and the historical significance of this iconic site. 🌍✨
